Been busy taking care of Ms. Joyce and honey does around the house. Spent a little bit of time looking around the internet too! We discussed my boat situation, and agreed I could get a new one when I get my settlement from the Navy. I've had the one I have now on Market place for a while now, and everyone wants a let's go right now boat, not a project. So, I decided, since I can't work o it here, nor at the storage unit, I'm going to strip it. Pull the motor off, and 1973 Evinrude 65hp, and get it running.
I'm going to build an engine stand to put it on so I can get it running. I know it needs a Stator, at minimum, as it's puking a rubbery substance frome under the fly wheel onto the block. In the first two pics it's center on the block, and under where the battery cables is bolted to the block. I can't get a brand new one yet, but got one used with a warranty till I can get a new one. Also got myself a Evinrude Service Manual for this specific motor...which should be of great help.
I want to jump right in and start on it, but the hat and humidity is already driving me inside, so it will end up waiting a bit more.
I'm leaning toward a Lowes Roughneck Side Console 1760 for the replacement boat. I'm thinking of using my current trailer once the hull is disposed of and buying the boat. I will have to also get a Jackplate with hydraulic trim and tilt as this ole Triumph Evinrude don't have it. Can't hardly wait for the Navy to settle up. Sure will be a big change, for sure.
Well that's it for now. Take care everyone. Will post more as things progress.Name: 20221230_112321.jpg
