I do try to hit a few that are in a good depth and usually find some feeshes but not always as the water is getting cooler especially in the more shallow areas. Some of my largest fish hve been caught under docks and in the fall. I try to respect the dock owners and if I see them I will ask if they mind me fishing their dock. No one has said "no". Tennessee folk are mostly nice and friendly that way. If they are using their dock I stay away. No one want an errant jig smashing their face ya know. Anyway fish on y'all.
I'm in South Carolina in the winter and spring and find that people here are mostly the same way. They'll often ask if you're catching any and will frequently sit and watch you fish. I'm not sure I've had a single homeowner flip out of me yet (I HAVE had them flip out on me in New York state where I frequently fish in the summer and fall). In fairness, these are almost all floating docks and not a ton of people Crappie fish on the lake that I live on, so it's usually a bit of a curiosity for people to see you shooting docks.
