Those vent pipes are the brainchild of G3. They allow air to get to the bottom of the container. They are on the sides only not the bottom. There are no drainage holes on the bottom for the redworms to escape either. Damp newspaper or burlap provides all the moisture needed. Check it about every three days. Redampen the newspaper, give them some cornmeal, play them some doo wop music and put the lid back on. Keep it in the garage out of the hot sun.
