Hey June Bugg I bought a 3 gal. jug today. I think it will work fine. The only problem I can see is not being able to hang it over the side of the boat like a regular bucket. Any ideas? It will be great for winter when I use the bubbler all the time. But summer time may be different. Could always take the top off and dip some water out and put in fresh. I told you wrong, it's a 2gal made by Coleman and it was $8.88 at Walmart..

You can take the cheap styrofoam bucket and place it in a 5 gallon bucket like a home depot bucket etc. Bought bucket today, they are $2.54. Ok, now you can buy a can of the spray foam and seal strofoam bucket in 5 gal bucket real good and it will marry the cheap styrofoam to the bucket and also further insulate it. Its also hard to turn over and holds a good bit of water for minnows. Then for the top, just attach one of the real small bunjy cords across the bucket top to keep the cheap lid on while traveling. you can attach a minnow bubbler to the bucket side too and it will stay secure for you. You now have a minnow bucket for all year. When its summertime, take you some water bottles like you buy at wm or sams etc, and freeze them in freezer and take to lake in cooler. When minnow water starts to warm, throw in a water bottle (that you can reuse over and over btw) and minnows stay cold and lively all day. Tip of the Day.GCF

Yes, I have one of those to, I think I will fix up this 2 gal. jug with a strap and bubbler, drill a hole in the top for the hose. Even if I don't use it that much in warm weather, I know I'll use it a lot ice fishing.. You been catching any fish???

You used to could buy a sportsman 5 gallon bucket/cooler with a cushion swivel seat on top. It was a 5 gallon bucket with a strofoam liner inside which made it a cooler. Sounds like that would be the trick for a minnow bucket too. Check online or at the sporting goods stores and see if you can still find them.
