    Be sure the water is non chlorinated! Use pond water,well water or let the water sit out for a day or two to let the chlorine escape.

    Orange slices and folded wet paper towels with destilled water, jar lids full of distilled water, wet crushed dog food, keep them in the shade and don't let the birds be able to get in the box.
    The orange slices will make em get big and jucie, they love em.

    ditto on the orange slices, the sweeter the orange the better.

    Just potatoes or even tomatoes also keep them cool around 75 to 80 to hot will kill them so keep them alittle cool but not freezing
