I am not the elect. tec.butI would get rid of the fish ID. Go back to factory default and check my sensitivity. Then call HB> Ph call cheep.
I agree about the fish ID. I bet that goes away when you get in shallower water. If both xducers operate at 200khz there isn't much you can do about it unless you can cahnge the operating frequency on one of them. Or better yet look into linking the 2 together and just use 1 xducer. I can do that with my units but don't know about the Birds.
On mine, I couldn't get a depth reading unless I turned off my trolling motor. The screen was useless.
One thing to check is if you are running the transducer in the motor (US2) make sure the connection are tight on the metal adapter that connects the motor and the fishfinder. If this does not solve it call our customer service department and get a kit. Our Customer Service number is 800-633-1468.
called HB, explained the problem. They are shipping out a kit today. I should have just called them in the first place. Thanks Joby.
I don't have the universal sonar trolling motor, and If I did, I doubt I'd use it.
Just my opinion, but in my mind the word universal when dealing with electronics is less then desired.

OK. Got the kit today. I thought I had the big transducer, this thing is like twice the size of my old one. So I already know that the original mount will probably not work, so what mount do I need to buy. I'm assuming I'm not the first one to have this problem.
Never mind. I called HB and they are shipping out the mount. This is the only company that I know of that you can call with a problem and they send out a free 200.00 transducer, and interfence kit that I'd imagine cost 100.00 or better.
I'm a humminbird guy for good now. :rolleyes:

I got that new transducer and installed it. Even upgraded the software with the new SI functions. I have the 797. Still really not pleased with the images at all. Even sent it back to humminbird for a test. They found no problem. With the bigger transducer I loose depth at speed(25mph). It only picks up the bottom at slower speed. As far as the SI picture with the enhanced software. Hmmm still not a 1000.000 worth in my book. I use the Gps more than anything. Hate the SIQuote:
