Now how much is a bit is relative , but when it tries to send me swimming over and over as it gusts up to the 40 range , that classifies as a bit WINDY ! :Rofl
Now mind you the sustained 20 wasn't easy to vertical ketch in either , but in the end them gusts were just a beat down .
The good news is the bite was ON ! They were parked on the bottom and you had to hold it really still , just like the ole winter thing . Dead sticking like a statue is for sure difficult in that kind of wind , but as you might have guessed there is always some fool that will give it a go :Rofl
the cove is somewhat sheltered ,and the open lake looked like a big surf .
we slung around 70 plus fish in an hour and gave up on them for several reasons , one we were testing a water pump to use to set new plastic barrels under the dock . the second reason was a discussion on repairing one of Ez's big boats and or the storage of it as well .
Some of the fish we encountered were really nice and some not so much , a few went into the air on the hook sets and a few didn't budge , such is blind dropping jigs under docks .
Water was rather cool to the touch and so were the fish , holding 7 foot down in 8 feet of water , much movement on a jig and it was a no go .
larger fish bit really softly and the smaller they got the harder they bit as you might have guessed .
it was a steady mix of black ,white ,big and small , blacks seemed to be in larger numbers than the whites . no "off" species were in the mix .
since masks are dwindling rapidly and the season for said masks is about over , I just wore my "JOKER" mask to be in season apparel wise ....
Looking forward to the big fish thumps in the near future , soon all the fish will be thumping like they mean it .:highfive
that is my Friday lunch break report from lake Worth and as you well know >>>>
KABOOM is in fact the word yawl :cheers2
