Haven't heard about that yet. I can understand about the boat plug but the live well... Unless its summertime I bring the fish home in the live well.
I don’t believe this is going to go over well...
I heard about it but ,,,theysaid I normally leave fish in livewell till I get home . This means you will need a cooler with ice or a tank of water in your truck bed .
I’m OK with this - not OK with fact that so many of our lakes have no cleaning stations!

Fantastic!!! I was hoping for a few more rules that make it just a little more difficult for me to be a law-abiding citizen.
So when I go fishing in the winter I put some water in my cooler out of whatever body of water I’m fishing. In the summer that same cooler is mostly ice w/ a little water from whatever body of water I’m fishing... I guess I’m an outlaw now... or will be the first time I go fishing this year.
This kind of Mickey Mouse nonsense crap is infuriating.

Makes sense. Small price to pay to help prevent spread of invasive species. Asian carp made a believer out of me. Now, I’ve just got to remember to do it.
The problem is, when u go to agfc.com, and look under fishing and go to boating information and then under Arkansas boating laws, it is not mentioned.
Would this regulation stopped the spread of Asian carp?
I fish rivers and oxbows off rivers primarily.... running water.... how is my taking a cooler half full of water home different than the river carrying that same water downstream?

It's not believe what I want. I was simply saying if u look in the handbook of Arkansas boating laws, it is not in it. I know u can search the website and find it. but a new law of this magnitude should be front and center on the website and even posted on facebook from their page.
So my question remains....
1). Would this have prevented the Asian carp invasion
and
2). What difference does it make if my cooler or the river carries river water downstream?

I miss the young man that used to post on here that would of filled this topic with vital information. Too bad he was run off by want to be's.
What’s so vital about a regulation change? Just stay updated, take responsibility and follow the law. Posters come and go on all types of message boards.

Some regulations are necessary. Agreed. As in don’t kill each other. Not necessary as in don’t keep your fish in water until you get home.
Over regulation makes outlaws of people who don’t need to be.

Talk to people who have lakes with Salvinia problems and ya'll won't be whining about a simple regulation. It's a big issue on Earling and they just found it on Millwood.
Again.............
I fish rivers and oxbows off those rivers..... I fail to see how my moving a cooler full of water upstream or downstream of that river system is consequential compared to the river moving millions of gallons every day.
Enlighten me.
And it’s not whining. I’m now an outlaw when I try to keep my fish alive until I get them home to clean them.

I cant read this thread is it in the new fishing reg book
Sadly our Federal fish and wildlife and state agentcies are not proactive enough . Zebra Mussels , invasive Carp and invasive plants get here then it is like trying to put the Genie back in the bottle . Millions spent and more restrictions on Sportsmen and women trying to slow the spread . Sadly they are here to stay and all we can hope for is to slow their spread . The Giant Salvinna can double everyday and take over a lake with one sprig hauled on a boat trailier . Zebra mussels can spread also through water carried in boats between lakes . We must not carry these invasives to new water bodies if we want to keep good fishing . The list of invasives seem to increase almost yearly . Snakeheads , Silver and Bighead Carp are the reason we can't move bait fish from one body to another . Some may not be able to disquinish between them and native species used for bait . We can help or be part of the problem . Inconvience on us but just one of those things that are needed . :twocents
Could those thing be moved on the legs of waterfowl? Floods?
I see all kinds of holes and nonsense in this regulation. Some of you don’t. I’m glad I live in a country where we’re free to discuss our opinions freely.
