Another great video...I forgot that you had the Fine Tail Banshee SUL rod,I didn't see a review of that rod I might have to go back and look thru your videos...
Thanks much. I never did a review of the SUL. I need to though. Both of the Fine Tail Banshee rods I own are very sensitive. The Daiwa Iprimi is really very dead compared to the Major Craft.....but the Daiwa was less than half the cost of the Fine Tail Banshee. My Palms Egeria is adequate in the sensitivity department but when one gets used to fishing with the extremely sensitive rods it is hard to use less.

Looks like fun. I’ve never seen anyone use a net for panfish. [emoji4]

Well....when one is using 2.1# test line that actually breaks at 2.1 pounds.....and you are using rods with tips as small as 6/10th of a millimeter, and that rod costs from 300 to 500 dollars.....and has a graphite content as high as 99.6 percent.......you don't want to be boat lifting fish. It ain't a pretty sight when one breaks one of these rods.....LOL. Now having said that there are quite a few UL rods that cost from 50 bucks and up that folks have no business boat lifting fish with either. I will on occasion boat lift a very small bluegill with one of these rods but shellcracker...crappie....white bass......all get the net.
Regards
I’m not able to spend that much for one rod. The Leland trout slayer rod is very good and within $50 range. Also recommended by AlphaHawk
but when one gets used to fishing with the extremely sensiti rods it is hard to use less....
Garage sale at Alphahawk's this weekend!

As always, nice video! I'm going to purchase a Tict Ice Cube, just might be a few weeks before I pull that trigger.
That is a good rod...and it does have a very high graphite content, and is very sensitive. I'm trying to get them to go with another type guide on that rod..... although technically speaking there is nothing wrong with those guides on it now. There is no other rod out there, at or close to the price of the Trout Slayer that weighs in at it's weight of 2.4 ounces.

Great video! I’m pumped up now! Need to get after them here. I saw you twitching the rod in this video. I assume that is your twitching technique?

Looks like big redear catching fun. Fighting little dudes, for sure! I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
Another good video
Nice. I always watch on YouTube (click the Youtube icon lower right of video window) so I can give Randy a "like", or "thumbs up". It also helps Randy if you subscribe - just do it. :ThumbsUp
Thanks.......that’s much appreciated.

Great video. on the subject of netting fish, I started using lite wire hooks for crappie about 8 years ago.these hooks will bend if you try to swing a big fish in the boat so we started netting every fish during a tournament. Now Just out of habit We net just about every fish regardless of species. I thinks its a good habit to start and also protects your rods.
Finally got a chance to watch the video, enjoyed it as always. Those fish look like the perfect size to battle with the SUL. Too bad they are spawn and gone so fast. I can usually find Pre-spawn Gills in the week or two before the Full Moon. Do these Crackers get into a Pre-spawn mode and stage in certain areas before hitting the flats? Just curious.
Thanks much. Yeah they can be found before, and after spawn usually around the areas they are using to spawn. They will usually be out in deeper water pre-spawn and post-spawn. You know last year I found plenty of shellcracker and redbreast during the spawn, and post spawn at Nickajack. What was odd I never found a single bluegill bed last spring there....I mean not one. I spent that whole time looking for bluegill beds at Nickajack that I did not fish other lakes until the spawn was over. By that time they had completed the spawn in other lakes that I would fish in the spring. As a matter of fact I have caught very few northern strain bluegill at all in Nickajack Lake. Going to be a tough call for me the next few weeks as to where to go. I sure don't want to miss the redbreast spawn down there....they may not be as big as the larger bluegill in my other lakes I fish but they sure have an attitude about them...much like a shellcracker.

How long do you wait after you cast to start to reel?
Agree. Since a lot of kids learn to fish by watching TV, they do what the Pros do. B.A.S.S did away with the nets in their tournaments to make it harder to land the fish. No one explains on TV why they only boat lift or hand land their catch.

Good catch! We call them chinquepin bream down in Louisiana. Lots of fun and good eating!
