Unanimously .......GO!!!!
I pulled up to the ramp today--one truck and trailer there. Generally not a good sign. Tried fishing the piers for 2-3 hours and got skunked. I had "heard" they were holding on the deep ends of the piers, but I guess I didn't find the right one. Didn't see anyone else fishing the piers, a couple were trolling. Keep in mind, about the only time I seem to catch crappie there is during the spawn. I did see several jumping carp in there today while idling through lily pads---not good.
I was there Sunday. Only seen five boats. We kept 8 and was off the water by 10. The local pro there had 7 when we left. It was on fire before the cold snap. Everyday is different tho so just go and enjoy.
I fished it yesterday. Tried everything and never really just drilled them down to a specific location. I started deep off the edge of the piers (25ish) and caught one right off the bat followed by another shortly after and it was enough to keep me trying it for another hour but never got another bite. Ended up moving out in 18-20 FOW and caught some, but didn’t just spank them by any means. Wasn’t that many boats and no one I talked to was really on them good, or so they said. I fished from daylight-2:30 trolling. Weather looks rotten for the next week or so.

We've got a guys trip coming up in a couple of weeks here. Gonna fish, drink, play poker, and eat good all weekend.
Does Horseshoe get a lot of runoff into it? I was hoping to find somewhere to fish in the not too distant future, like maybe as soon as tomorrow, that won't be really high and muddy like most of the lakes I usually fish will be. And are there any reports that look promising by chance? Thanks
I’d think the deep water would be fine. Weather sounds little rough tomorrow be careful if u go.

I would get work done and make the wife happy this weekend. With all this fresh water it would be a major grind and I'm sure frustrating at times. So I will be out there next week sometime.
If anyone is planning on a trip to the shoe anytime soon, watch out for debris in the water. There’s a lot of stuff floating in the lake right now after all the water we have gotten there.
Bad muddy too?

Well it looks like I'm going to give it a try Wednesday. Anybody have any suggestions on what to try this time of year? I've only fished it once before and it was much later in the spring but then we caught them on some cypress trees. I would think it's too early for that. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Put in at the public ramp and go up until you see the first ditch and troll double minnows in 20 to 25 fow 17 or so ft deep and you will catchem guaranteed!!!! If not 17 ft fish right on the bottom. That is the easiest lake to fish and figure out.
Looking at weather I may be there Wednesday holy cow looks like a nice day between what we came out of and the cold coming

Do you think Horseshoe will clear up enough for trolling by Wednesday?
You're gonna love those millennium pole holders.
I hope so. That’s what I ll be doing. I’d imagine jigs tipped w minnows will be my preferred weapon

Only thing I might do differently is if they start running spillway at Sardis I may make the extra drive down there If it’s not I ll b trolling horseshoe.

Sardis Lower usually needs a few days to settle down when they open spillway. it will rise about 3 feet when they open it up.
Me and my boy may be there Wednesday also
My friend has been there all day and only has 4.
Did he say how the water clarity was? Is he trolling?
