We're going in the morning. Plan on leaving Jonesboro around 5:30. Should put us fishing by 7:30ish
Water temp is 54-56. There were a bunch of trailers in the parking lot when I got there between 2-3 today. Water clarity is ok, Lake is high. It’s over the rock dam by the Five Lakes Club. Fished very little, caught nothing (about usual for me). Will probably go back tomorrow, but likely try to catch a bass.
Lol it is a easy lake to figure out. He wasn't holding his mouth right. Guarantee you that was the problem.
I’m at brookland that’s about my plan too. By time I get horses taken care of it may be 6 before I leave probably. I’d say if anyone skips down to Sardis that was planning on horseshoe shoot a pm if y’all get on them so we can come help you out. And if I get on them I’ll do the same.

2 bass was our take today, but sounded like we did better than most of the crappie fishermen we talked to today. I sure wish it wasn’t supposed to get so cold next week. While I’m wishing......I wish whoever has all those yo-yos on the trees across from Karefree would tend them properly and remove their fish like they’re supposed to. Looked like the catfish were biting good, but those fish hung there all morning (and likely all night) without anyone removing their catch.
Congrats on bass I brought home 6 crappie finally. 1good,1 decent and 4 dink’s I should’ve thrown back but I didn’t. It was definitely slow I didn’t catch one until after 11am and was fishing by 8am. Nice to meet Mac daddy today. Don’t know if this helps anyone but I couldn’t hardly catch one on double rigs. I cut my top hook off and started catching them slowly. Probably coincidence but had to change something

CrappieNea, didn't realize it at the time, but I was the one with my son that ended up catching 6 crappie and that 1 big catfish. We were in the 15' war eagle. The 2 older guys in the 16' war eagle around us was my dad and uncle. Nice to meet you.
Awesome. Good to know. Yea turned out to be a fairly fun day. My last fish when I got a little north of y’all was probably about the same as your first one that morning. It was a shock for sure when she broke water.

CrappieNEA it was good to meet you. And the guys from Walnut Ridge in that beautiful Ranger boat, sorry I forgot your c.com names, but thanks for the 4 extra crappie you gave us. mcc we saw you catch that big momma catfish, we were in a white Stratos east of you at the time. We wound up with 15 plus the 4 the other guys gave us. I told one guy out there early on that we all needed to pool our fish together and give to someone so at least someone would have a good mess. LOL
Nice to meet you mac daddy
Sounds like it was a tough day all around. I was hoping to get out next week, but man, the temperatures don’t look favorable.

Is the guy with blue tracker boat and orange poles on here? I hadn’t seen all orange poles before. Definitely shouldn’t misplace one. Just curious what kind those are.

Any of you guys headin down Saturday? Thinking i might make my way down there
Nope kids rodeo Saturday. Good luck water was trashy Wednesday so hard to watch lines cause constantly getting stuff on them.

Actually it didn't. What helped was just old school single pole fishing with a jig. The bite was so light that if you weren't holding the pole in your hand you'd miss it. We probably caught 5 on double minnow rigs. The rest were caught single poling. Pink and chartreuse.
Not looking for any sort of special information, just curious if the water had “cleared” back up on horseshoe? I know it had to be dirty after all the rain a couple weeks ago, and I know it rained yesterday, but was just curious. Thinking about a trip down that way this week but it’s way to long of a drive to fish dirty water.
You will never know unless you go. Right now if I had a chance to fish chocolate milk I would.
Lol If I had a chance to go and it was like chocolate milk I would still go.
water clearing up looks good
Thinking of coming down a week from today, duck hunt around that area but never crappie fished Horseshoe, looking forward to seeing some reports the next week!
Why aren't there any RV sites around or close to lake?
I spider rigged at Horseshoe today for 5 hours and caught one crappie. There were two other boats trolling. Talked to guy in one of the other boats and he also caught one. I didn't talk to other boat but didn't see him catch a fish while he was close to me. I talked to a guy who single poled and he caught four. Water has cleared up nicely but fish wouldn't bite. Tough day for sure.
I think we may have talked out on the water, over by the piers, but not positive. Were you in a green bass boat with a mercury? I was in a Camo duck boat.
It was the worst trip I think I’ve ever had to Horseshoe. Didn’t put a single keeper in the boat. Water looked good but they just would not bite. Marked a few fish scattered here and there and almost all of them were laying on the bottom. Fished from daylight-2:30.
I saw where the horseshoe lake legend caught limits the past two days....

No problem Sir. I'll stop by and say hi next time I see you on the lake.
