Nice work Ken!! Thought it was cold down in Mississippi, heck you got shorts on!
what is the limit ? Since they did away with the old records I assume they may recognize a record trout as well .
Wild trout eat good . Farm raised I don't care for eating . My wife and dad like the taste Of them though. Nice catch .
I didn't know we had any in Ms. I was told around Bull Shoals that the water had to be 40 something degrees of so them to live.
3 per person per day. Biggest I heard of being caught so far this year was 18 inches.

Congrats on your trout catching. I really enjoy catching them. If they are breaking water I will put a trout magnet on a jig and add the weighted floater about four feet. Also will applied a crappie nibble and add a split shot between jig in floater. Won't take long to limit out. I like to take the trout and grind them up in meat grinder. Make some of the best fish patties you can eat on a sandwich.

White rooster tail 1/8 oz. some folks used corn or power bait. Some were caught jigging around the dock. They never sit still they are constantly moving or making laps around the lake- we caught these yesterday. Attachment 287132

My wife and I went on a guided trout trip to the White River in Mt View AR when we found out she was pregnant with our daughter. We drift fished and caught our limits of good sized trout in fairly short order. It was a GREAT trip. We tried grilling them, baking them, and fried some pan size fish like those Stockers you caught. The fried fish were much better to me. Just a bit more gamey tasting IMO when grilled or baked than most fish we eat. The grease and cornmeal solves some of that tho.

They do die off n the lakes around here. My son was bass fishing in a park lake in May and could see trout swirling around on the surface.

They will hit a minnow/slip bobber rig also. 5 per person in Kentucky but you have to buy a trout stamp.
Got a yearly AR fishing license a month or two ago to fish on a lake over there. I went ahead and paid the $6 trout fee, fella I was crappie fishing asked "you going after trout"??.. I told him I spose I may sore lip one of those critters from time to time, you never know.. good catch, and looks like fun to me!!!
They will hit cut bait. I've never fished them with a float. We get the annual AR fishing license and the federal trout stamp. Planning a few camping trips now.
How much is a day of 3 fish like it cost???
5.00 no stamp needed only regular fishing licenses.

I'm ok eating trout until I find one of those tiny bones in my mouth then it's all over. I just ordered a Wunder Boner, see if that helps. My son says their whole fish at the restaurant comes boneless.
