Looking for options on the best electric filet knife. I have arthritis in my thumb joints so I prefer a knife that has a small grip. I currently use a CHEAP Black&Decker
EK 700. It works ok but wish it had a stiffer blade and a little more powerful motor. Wondering what y'all use.

American Angler
I use the Mr Twister blue and white one mostly becasue I was given an AM Angler and found it too difficult to hold. I have quite small hands. This is the salt water version and the local hdwe store says it is stronger. IDK. Mr Twister, B&D, Ham Beach all have worked for me. There are ones out there with a locking trigger. That may also relax your hand, altho it could be unsafe as well in some situations. btw I would give this AM Angler to someone. 4 or 5 yrs old, been tried twice.
I really like the Rapala it's easy to hold . Not too expensive and seam to last pretty good.
I've got a GE carving set we've had for 10 plus years. It has worked great and the blade is stiff enough but flexible to where you can put a little bend if needed.

American Angler PRO. Tired em all. This one cuts through em like butter. No strain on the wrist. It is unbelievable how much better it is over its competition. Buy it the first time or u will be buyig it on the 2nd. Seriously man. Plz let me save you some money in the "long run".

American Angler with the shark blade
I looked at that one the other night at Walmart but I clean sometimes 100+ fish at a time and I did not like the way the trigger was set up. It look like to me that you would have some finger fatigue from having to pull back on the trigger. I would have bought it except for the triggerQuote:

I have the portable Rapala. You plug in a transformer to use it with AC. I find it the slower than I wish. Gonna try it direct to the boat battery without the trans. Maybe it'll run better.

Also have a cheap Black and Decker, 700? Offset blade is nice, keeps your hand up a little, off the table. Lacking power, and the cord is not long enough, for me. Blade sharpness leaves a little to be desired, Way cheap enough,
For a backup knife.

If you clean that many fish at a time an american angler is definitely necessary. My wrist fatigues after about 20-30 fish with the others I have used. American angler there is no wrist fatigue at all. Even after 100 fish. So much power! You will ot be sorry.
8" or 10" blades?
I use name brands too. B&D, Hamilton Beach (wherever that is) and whatever others I find new in the box at goodwill for 3 or 4 bucks when the last one quits. I like the one I have now, slender handle and good placement of the trigger. Does fine and I do less than 15 at a time.
These blades can also be sharpened if you are a patient person. Crock stones (ceramic) come in different diameters. If yo look around and find on close to what the valleys in the blade are, you can one by one make a big improvement on an otherwise disappointing blade. Doesn't take long once you get a rhythm and keep the angle the same.
Found a shop close by, that will sharpen them for $5 each. $10 a set. Promised to be better than new, factory blades. We will see. Dropped 3 sets yesterday.
The B&D is an E500, not 700' my mistake. Picked up all three sets of blades and my belt knife, from the sharpening shop this afternoon, seem really nice. Much more aggressive angle to the new grind. Wierd paying for a sharping job, been doing my own since I was a pup. But I'm not set up for serated knifes and don't want to learn. My remaining days are too short, to spend time on that. Will know in a couple of weeks, with the next bucket of fish...

For 12v the Berkeley is very nice. I bought one of the american angler 12v that were recently available from them and found it lacks power vs the Berkeley. For 120v the mister twister green is great!
The American Angler gets to hot to hold when cleaning a mess. Mr. Twister is a great knife, but you need to change or sharpen the blades at some point not just cuss the knife.
