Tree fell down in the yard, so I went to town for buckets and quikrete. Now to find a spot. I'm thinking 15' to 20'.

c ordinance pleas:biggrin
I live 15 minutes from Juliette and never fish it. I have seen some big crappie come out of there.
I'm about a mile from it as the crow flies. I fish it a lot, but I have not targeted crappie yet. My crappie catching in the past has been long line trolling or live baiting around docks. Catching out of Juliette will be a learning experience.
Nice looking piles
Very nice. Going to be a doozy transporting.
I have killed the crappie (and BIG shellcracker) at Juliette in the past. I miss fishing there, since my new boat motor is to big for Juliette. :(
Some of the Juliette 'crackers.:biggrin
I heard that!
I'm going to go get the coordinates tomorrow after I quit fishing. The drop should probably be when there's not much traffic, I guess. Running the boat while sitting in a treetop is going to be a ridiculous.
does Juliette have a limit on motor size .
Got a ticket there years ago when my trolling motor battery ran down when the wind picked up and had to use the big motor to get back to the ramp, have not been back since then. Emailed the GA Power contact last year and asked why they would not let big motors idle and was told it was decided by the DNR, emailed DNR and they said it was up to GA Power:scratchhead
Can idle on a <100 acre PFA but not on a >1000 acre Juliette???
Yeah, its 25hp only. Not too big a deal since the part of the lake you can safely run any faster than idle is only a couple miles long.
Only 25hp or smaller is allowed. Sorry for the confusion. My point was that being limited to 25hp isn't too much of a hassle because outboards are of limited use. You can stay in the middle of the channel in the upper end of the lake and still hit stuff, so even with a 25hp you're not going much faster than a trolling motor. At least I'm not.
can you ruse a boat with a bigger motor just leave it out of the water and use a trolling motor ?
Yep. People do that all the time.
Got on the lake about 0530 and got the bushes dumped before daylight. I didn't realize it would be so far until I looked at the GPS. 5 mph in pitch black took a while!
Surface temp. was 83 this morning. I guess here in a few weeks, if All Seasons can keep some minnows available, I will find out if I put it in the right spot or not.
To be safe I'd remove the prop if I exceeded the 25 hp rating. It's just to be safe, not sorry in case you run into one of those trying to make a name for himself.
Well, the water dropped even more so the brush is nowhere near the thermocline. Checked it with a jig. I'm guessing the small rockfish meant no crappie around. Bream tapped jig pretty good, though. Surface T was 81 this morning.
