You need some more rods first, You can get them on the net, but not cheap. Get enough for both of us. LOL
Click on the Off Shore logo down at bottom of page
I have used these pulling cranks on the front of my boat and they work really well!! I think I got them from offshore website.
Just click here Off Shore Tackle | Official Web Site
Not with all the broken tips!!!!
I lost a tadpole Friday in a snag. I almost cried when that 8+ bucks came off. I just can't figure out why they're so expensive, but they are. Amazon has them for 12+ dollars EACH!!!
Buy them thru FishUSA or Sportsman's Warehouse. Stay away from OffShore, they
charge premium prices for ordering direct from mfg.

E-bay has a few listings for a 4pk of Tad Poles for $33.99 delivered!
I found 3 of the #2 in a little bait shop on Lake Erie at Conneaut, OH this weekend for $6.99 each. I bought all they had which was 3.
Ok, is the crank going to pull it deeper than the chart shows it running????
I have some but can do the same thing or better with a 1 oz Arkie rig
I have 5 of the #1 here on my desk. Someone make a offer. $5.00 for shipping
They gone to BRM
Will go in mail in morning
What's the attraction, seriously?????????:dono
I can run 2 cranks or 1 on a 1 oz Arkie and not run near the line out to achieve the depths of a #1, like half the line.
What advantage do they give you? Have you pulled with the Arkie rig?
If you're happy with what you use, stay with it.
No, but I've tried pushing 1oz rigs up front that fast. Won't hardly work. I use a 4oz ScottV weight pushing up front and it only goes down 2/3 of the line out AT BEST!!! I also use a 3oz weight power trolling 1mph, and it does about the same. No way a 1oz will do that. [emoji4]
According to the Tadpole pulling chart a #1 at 1.5 mph will reach 16 feet deep with 55 feet of line out.
A 1 oz Arkie rig with a Atkie 350 or Bandit 300 on a 3 foot leader will bump bottom at 16 feet with 37 feet of line out at 1.7 mph, not exactly half but a lot less, third less. On second thought, if the Tadpole was at 1.7 it would be a good bit more than 55.
And I asked for the advantage, still haven't gotten that answer.
What is the advantage of the Arkie rig over any 1oz weighted rig? Sounds like it working for ya so let er rip. I don't know the answer to your question on the advantage of the Tadpole. I have not pulled the Arkies, just pushed them. The Tadpole works, and is much more compact. They do have a dive curve listed in Precision Trolling so you KNOW how deep you're fishing, not guessing or going trough trial and error.
I like the tadpole because it Dives on its own. It doesn't just add weight. I like and use ScottV's pushing weights also. They don't dive, but they work. I still don't see a 1oz weight dragging a crank down to 16' with 37' of line out at 1.5 I WILL check it out this weekend tho.
Check out the BPS keel weights listed in Precision Trolling. They show the dive curves of a 1, 2, and 3oz model. The 1oz model Maxes out at 16' with 89' of line out. I'm wondering why the 1oz Arkie goes that deep with only 37' of line out??? An ounce is an ounce if the weight doesn't dive on its own like the Tadpole does, and the keel weight is much more streamline than an egg sinker. I HAVE used the keel weights and they match the chart pretty close. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...1ad1347902.png
Here's the Tadpole #1

BTW, Thanks for the Tadpoles Satdoc. I appreciate it budro.
The advantage for me is price period. Lot of things in the fishing world is designed to catch anglers. Don't doubt it works one bit but I can loose 4 or 5 of the Arkies for the same price of loosing one Tadpole. I been using Arkies for the convenience of adding a bait easy above the weight if I choose to, 1 oz worm weight will do the same thing. As far as an advantage there is none, it's price. Kinda like buying regular gas or non ethanol, if there weren't an advantage no one would be buying non ethanol.
???
Wonder why precision is showing a 15 difference than the off shore Web site, that I'd where I got my info?
Just grab a jig pole I have fished a 1/8 oz jig from 6 inches to 20 plus feet with zero boat speed yall can thank me later
When did precision trolling start including speed? Dont think I have ever seen that on my version.
yall makin my head hurt.all this to catch 15 fish:dono
fishing during the week is only a dream of mine, all the geezers I've talked to said I have'nt put my time in yet...when is enough?
Rock..probably most of the Geezers would tell you that time flies way too fast....I probably would trade fishing during the week for the ability to do tasks that were easy when I was young..Life is way too short..enjoy each day you are given..
