What is the advantage of the Arkie rig over any 1oz weighted rig? Sounds like it working for ya so let er rip. I don't know the answer to your question on the advantage of the Tadpole. I have not pulled the Arkies, just pushed them. The Tadpole works, and is much more compact. They do have a dive curve listed in Precision Trolling so you KNOW how deep you're fishing, not guessing or going trough trial and error.

I like the tadpole because it Dives on its own. It doesn't just add weight. I like and use ScottV's pushing weights also. They don't dive, but they work. I still don't see a 1oz weight dragging a crank down to 16' with 37' of line out at 1.5 I WILL check it out this weekend tho.

Check out the BPS keel weights listed in Precision Trolling. They show the dive curves of a 1, 2, and 3oz model. The 1oz model Maxes out at 16' with 89' of line out. I'm wondering why the 1oz Arkie goes that deep with only 37' of line out??? An ounce is an ounce if the weight doesn't dive on its own like the Tadpole does, and the keel weight is much more streamline than an egg sinker. I HAVE used the keel weights and they match the chart pretty close.
    Here's the Tadpole #1
