Something is going on, Walmart is not a dealer of ours, neither is Reds Gear, but they seem to be selling them. Hope they are not knock offs.. I invented some of these products and I'd loose money to sell them at that price.
I don't know how the consumer could know, but in order to claim warranty, you will need a receipt from an authorized dealer, which I'm letting you know now, they aren't. A good price is not always a good price.

Kinda long story but, I was talking to a vendor of another product a couple of weeks ago. He told me the same thing happened to them. They went to China to get their product manufactured because it was 2/3 cheaper than the local guy they had been using. After about a year their product started showing up at places like reds gear and Alibaba. What they had done was copy his product and even put his name on it and started selling it on the internet. Then folks were trying to get him to warranty them when they broke. They have a international patent on theirs and have been in court for a year or so but are about to get it stopped. I'm betting this is the same thing that is happening with E-Z's / Millennium products. I know we all want to save a Buck but is it really worth it when you look at sending those dollars to a Chinese corp verses a home grown small business. Even though those products are built in China. They still get covered with warranty and great quality control. Then when you buy this stuff and it's not up to par you want to blame Millennium and next thing you know their Reputation is shot and their out of business and your stuck with the cheap Chinese stuff as your only option. Then we set back and bemoan the fact we have lost jobs overseas and our small business's are going broke trying to compete. I just suggest be wise on your purchases, remember if it seems to good to be true it's probably is.
Sounds like this other company you're referring to jumped the "Made In America" ship first by going to China to either save a few bucks or more likely MAKE 2/3 MORE MONEY.Quote:

On the subject of made in China. 90% of the inventory (diamond blades and bits) we use in my business is made in China or Korea. From what I understand the labor cost is 16 to 1, meaning they can employ 16 workers to one of our American workers. Funny how we live in a country that kicks and screams about fair wages and human rights, but we turn a blind eye to other countries basically implementing a form of slave labor and who's workers live in our below the poverty level. I wish we could get back to the Made in America by Americans, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. :twocents

I just got off the phone with a guy that purchased from Amazon and he has a problem right out of the box. My suggestion to him was to send it back and get a refund. I'll send him one that I know is genuine and backed with our full warranty. You will have to make your own decision as to whether saving a few dollars is worth the potential head ache in the future, or as in his case, current head ache. We have materials and quality control that are second to none. It's your choice, pay me now or pay me later..
We didn't get in this fix over night, like 50+ years and we won't get out of it any quicker, imho, if we don't put a stop to some/most of these government regulations, we will never get back to the great "Made In America" we all want.

Yes they can. The vast majority of equipment used in the oil and gas industry is American made from American raw materials by Americans. China, Russia, Indonesia, etc. are major customers. I know this as fact.Quote:

It probably is, but the problem is the Chinese who do it don't care because there is not much of anything you can do about it outside the international court system which would probably take years and hundred's of thousands of dollars to fight. They could probably do something with RedsGear but I don't know all the legalities of that. Like I said in my original post the biggest problem is this kind of stuff can ruin a small co and the reputation of someone like E-Z. And for them to be able to sell the product for a profit cheaper than E-Z can buy them it has to be a inferior product some how.Quote:
