Old Bob came over today and help me out with my aerator in my boat as it needed to be replaced and I can not get on my knees at all. Thankfully it's all done and ready to put fish in the live well now thanks to Bob!
Now time to start testing new ties out and soon they should be in here I believe. Heck maybe they already are, but I hope not yet, LOL!

Lol! Us "Portly" guys are fortunate to have "Svelth" buddies around at times like that! Not that you're "Portly" anymore Skip, but I know you used to be heavy & it sure takes a toll on the ol knees! What's worse is when you can't get down on your knees & you have trouble standing up cuz of your knees! Wish they'd come up with an affordable "Personal Hovercraft"! LOL!
Man it's been probably about 15 years since I was able to get on my knees even on something soft! Oh well load it up again and move on. I have so many things wrong I just keep putting them off.Quote:

Let me tell you that cracking and popping is one thing, but when you get on your knees and the pain is bad enough, you stop getting on them puppies, LOL! Just so happens that came my way about 15 years ago and even kneeling on carpet with good pad is more than I can take! I just had my 3rd round of gel shots in my right knee, but this is just delaying having my right knee replaced. Have a family friend that I have known my entire life, he use to be 6'2" tall and because his legs are bowed so bad he is now just 5'9" tall. He just got the first one replaced last week so now we see what happens.Quote:

Skip you aren't the only one with that problem. I have taken off weight and still the old knees are bad. The docs told me that it would make it easier to get up and down. Just shows you that they sometimes don't know what they are talking about. When there bad there bad outside having them replaced there's little one can do but take pain medication.

Since you have seen me I also lost a lot of weight, but didn't help that part, damage done long ago on my knees. Got to see inside my right knee way back in about 1983 when it got scoped. It was already pretty bad, under knee cap looked like some horror movie with stuff hanging all over. They kind of mowed it and after looked like shag carpet, LOL!Quote:

GrumpyLoomis, if you're like me (which at 160# soaking wet, you're obvuiosly not!) You can't squat down & do anything except scream in agony, and you're afraid to bend down to pick up anything as small as a hook off the floor for fear of throwing the ol' back out! So, I have 2 "grabbers" for items like thread spoils, packs of feathers or chenille, etc and I also have 2-3 sticks strategically placed in the house, with a magnet attached to 1 end. I'm set@ :D
I have this really strong magnet with a handle that originally wanted to find some pliers in the water. Didn't find them, but I can pick up anything steel for sure, even can find a hook in a garbage can full of stuff, LOL!

Wow that is good info, magnet on a stick is in my future, Should not have to buy hooks for a while:)
Just an FYI, mine is like any wood handle you see on cheep broom and the magnet is round and probably 2" Diam? It's very strong and I am sure that I bought it like that. If you want I will take a picture to show you! Just let me know.Quote:
