it seems the green version looks edible to baby beavers .....?
I seen some crazy stuff before in the outdoors ...
and folks think I make things up I am sure ....
but I got a photo of this one flat out....
swam right up directly to my line
and began to chew on it ....
and No I aint kidding around ...
man does braid give me fits some times .....:banghead

i held real still when i saw it coming ....had on a camo jacket and brown levis ....guess i blended in ?
anyway i shooed it away when it began chewing on the line right after i took the the photo
and it swam off rather slowly and crawled up on a rock about 10 yards away
and then just kinda looked at me for a long minute or 2 ....
kinda gave me the willys a bit even though it was small .....i got bit real bad by a rat as a kid
and FOR SURE have not cared for rodents much ever since ....
i will say in 50 plus years a chasing critters and such i aint never seen nothing quite like that

AT SANTEE COOPER ONE TIME A FRIEND AND I THREW OUR LINE OVER A GATOR AND STARTED WINDING AND THE GATOR WAS LETTING US PULL HIM TOWARD BOAT,THEN I WAS GETTING SCARED AS HE WAS ABOUT 20 FEET AWAY AND I STARTED HOLLOWING TO SPEED UP TM FOR I WAS AT BACK AND THE NEAREST TO HIM AND FRIEND WAS LAUGHING TILL HE SAW HOW CLOSE THE GATOR HAD GOT TO ME AND SPEED UP MOTOR,THE HOOKS WERE HUNG ON HIS BACK,I THINK HE WAS LOOKING FOR A EASY MEAL

The meat is good stuff , just take care to not contaminate meat with Castor gland (scent gland under tail ). We have eaten fried steaks or BBQ Beaver .Quote:
