    AT SANTEE COOPER ONE TIME A FRIEND AND I THREW OUR LINE OVER A GATOR AND STARTED WINDING AND THE GATOR WAS LETTING US PULL HIM TOWARD BOAT,THEN I WAS GETTING SCARED AS HE WAS ABOUT 20 FEET AWAY AND I STARTED HOLLOWING TO SPEED UP TM FOR I WAS AT BACK AND THE NEAREST TO HIM AND FRIEND WAS LAUGHING TILL HE SAW HOW CLOSE THE GATOR HAD GOT TO ME AND SPEED UP MOTOR,THE HOOKS WERE HUNG ON HIS BACK,I THINK HE WAS LOOKING FOR A EASY MEAL

    Beavers have small eyes and poor eye sight , you don't move and they usually don't reconize you as a danger . Thanks for a cool story .

    .....I would guess they don't see very well for sure ....
    I had a really large one come up to me one night a year ago er so ...
    like the 50 pounder size ....and walk right up the bank ...chew down a small tree
    and then drag it right past me and swim off to the boat ramp 40 yards away ....
    and go right up under the boat ramp with it ....
    to dark to get photos but it was interesting to say the least ....
    and I think that you know beaver what stole my bamboo I sank there as well ...
    or a 2 legger got it ....I aint sure on that one ....but it wasn't there for 2 days before it was gone ....LOL
