What's everyone's opinion on the best rod holders for spider rigging? Tite-lok? spyder lok? Probably looking more at the T-bar system rather than the singles that are a little out of my price range.

Spyder Lok is the best in my opinion
Buy the one YOU like best. To many influences on personal opinions. Hi Tech was the favorite a few years ago, now it's something else. I like brand X. [emoji12]

Well I might be hijacking my own thread, but what are some ways yall have found that "sturdy up" a T-bar? Was thinking maybe you could somehow tie the outside arms down to the boat some sort of way. Just looking for ways to improve it I guess. It's frustrating when one fish bumps every pole, I know this is part of the game and going to happen, but just wondering if its a way to decrease it happening so much ?
Easy..buy spyder loks
I have the drift master and have always used them , and would buy again. The others are great to. Several good brands to choose from.
I made mine with 1/2" steel piping to hold driftmaster rod holders. 4 in the middle and a set of 2 on each side. Wanna adjust it, buy another $2 short piece of pie and screw it in. lol
I have a set of Driftmaster's, I just sold MrDux my set of Hi Tec. and I now have the Spyder Lok which in my opinion is the best for Spider Rigging! The Spyder Loc are very easy to adjust and are sturdy! However if you plan to pull cranks I don't think they are suited best for that due to adjusting the degree of your rods the knob you adjust them with tends to get in the way a lil.
I pull cranks all the time with mine. No problems
I use spyder lok and like them a lot, mainly because of there ease in adjusting. Down side for me is as you said, " when one fish bumps every pole," When you find the cure let me know.
I love my SpyderLoks, they fit every style of trolling I do and fit it well. As far as sturdy, well I had a pretty good size fellow hanging off one of mine and it didn't break, it did bend but I figured it was gone but it held.
Cumberland crappie 360
Attwood get them at Walmart. Put one every 2' around the entire boat. You will be as sturdy as you will ever need. And you will be as versatile to fish any method. Pushing pulling and side pulling.
HiTeks. When it ain't broke, don't fix it. Scott is good to deal with and is working on a rail system base for my Excel.
Buy what works in your boat and style of fishing...It's not always about the equipment
Spyder looks are the best, but I have been thinking about cutting the upright post and replacing it with something more solid.
Not knocking HiTeks but the Model-T weren't broke but it sure has been fixed a lot over the years and in the same token Scott has modified his products over time as well. he is very good to deal with and very inventive but he is not the only one out there that is in that class.
I use the kind I mentioned earlier because it fits my needs the best and of good quality, I try hard to stay away from saying something is "The Best" because that's just opinion.
Lot of good designs out there and I know of several that swore by one type just a year ago that have changed up what they are doing for whatever reason, lot of times that reason is sponsorship of some sort.

I agree.....Kinda like crankbaits :biggrin
You are correct but anybody who cares to go back thru my posts will find I have been liking and using HiTeks since I bought my 1st ones several years ago. I've bought every one of my Hi Teks until Scott recently sent me something to try and give my HONEST feedback on for my Excel. I wasn't saying his are best or others don't work equally well for others. I have used most of those mentioned and for my style of fishing, the HiTeks work better. I also told Scott that he had better expect my brutally honest opinion if I found something about his rail system I didn't like.
I recently spoke with a gentleman who sells other brands of rod holders and asked me if I was happy with my current choice. I said I was and he told me I should stay with the one that I am happy with and works best for my application. I would tell others to do the same thing.
BTW, I paint a ton of c55s and other cranks but I still have a place in my box and on my rods for many other baits like Bandits, Bombers, Rebels, Normans, etc. Same argument can apply.
Just my opinion but Ask someone who isn't sponsored lol. Some good points have been brought up.
With all that said, I have used high Tec's. The guys that helped get me started spidering used them. I have felt with Scott and no issues. I just didn't care for them as they didn't suit my styles of fishing. The rod holders would move and I constantly had to reposition them.
My second set of rod holders has been the spider locks. I like them and haven't looked back wishing I stayed with the tite lok. Things i like about the spiders are they stay out when you adjust them. They easily adjust any way you put them. They work great for pulling, pushing and cranking. Thing I don't like is they block my view when driving the boat. I wish they would lay down.
With that said a lot of guys have changed to the individual rod holders. I have fished with and used the tit lok individual holders out of someone's boat. I can say They adjust easily, they fold down when riding. Down side to me is they move easily and when you get a fish ya have to re adjust them back to level. A lot of them require more than 8 holes but less than a billion. Some of the new ones have a track system too which eliminates a lot of the holes.
I prefer my holders to stay level when fishing. This allows me to pay attention to the rods more instead of being aggravated cause a rod isn't level.
Good advice and that's too ask to fish with someone that has what you are considering purchasing.
I don't think any of the rod holder companies are bad to deal with or heard negative things about any of them. It will come down to personal preference in the end!!
I prefer my Rees Guide specials! They are built like a tank.
Thanks for the advice fellas
I'm a big fan of simple, functional design. I have the Hi Teks and that's probably all I'll ever have.
"With the use of a wrench, loosen one bolt to adjust each individual holder to the exact
position you need and then tighten the bolt and get ready for the fishing action."
That's from Hi Teks website describing their T-bar. Im not a fan of having to use a wrench to adjust the rods. The spyderloks looks simple enough. Thanks for everyone's input
I took a 6 inch piece of 3/4 inch wide flat steel stock and welded a 1/2 inch socket to it. Drilled a hole in the end opposite the socket, put a loop of bungee cord thru it and did away with a box end wrench. I keep one at each end of the boat, sometimes 3-4 in the boat attached to the uprights. 5 minute job with a wire welder. Painted mine red so they were easy to keep up with. I have knobs on all my individual rod holders like mentioned.
Here is the information I was able to pull back for ya doing a quick search.

I didn't find these but an old member did. Just passing on some good info if you decide for high tek.
exact reason i use the spyderloks now,no tools to adjust. They both have there good and bads.the hiteks i had i believe when spiderrigging i could grab the rod better when i got a bite, less bulky, solid as a rock. The spiderloks i have now no tool adjustment, height adjustable, holder design locks the rod in place, dislikes bulky and wish they were more solid upright:biggrin
I got the best of both worlds......SpyderLOks on front for spider rigging and pushing cranks....HiTeks on back for pulling cranks and long lineing.
