yes , I fished Caney about 8 years ago. we caught 7 in 2 days. they were good ones but, like you said it was tough. what about d arbonne ??? or the basin ???
The biggest bream I have ever caught in my life came out of Caddo.
I agree Randy,
Caddo was the best bream lake when I was growing up, we went there every summer to bream fish till I was in high school,
then Toledo opened and I remember the coolers full of big ole peeing bream we used to catch and the fish scalers at the marinas to clean them for 50 cents.
All we had was a 12 ft alum boat with 7 1/2 HP motor and a paddle also boat had no boat seat on seats just a board and cushion (doubled as a life preserver) to sit on
oh yeah Toledo was full of standing timber then, had to break limbs to clear a hole to fish.
Concordia lake
Definitely Caney for chinquapins and I hear Lake Yucatan has huge bluegills.
The Ball Park at Old River Morganza IMO
YUCATAN does.
Palmyra too!!
If your really good at finding the big ones, Toledo Bend has huge ones. Example: I ran into some a long time ago now, but we were worm fishing and something kept taking the tails off and we were not doing well on bass. So we went back to Fin & Feather to get some crickets and went back. Now these were in 11' of water and we ended up with 42 of them. The smallest one was 3/4 pounds and biggest was 1 3/4 pounds! I keep forgetting to look for the beds in deep water, but know where a couple are in deep water. You can get good ones on the bank, but not the huge ones!

Havasu !!!!!
does eagle lake, Louisiana have big bream ??? what kind of lake is it ??? any info is appreciated.
Miller's Lake. Last year I caught some huge bream out of there. Dapet fishes there alot. He usually knows when it's good there.
what about d arbonne ???
Beat me to it jig rig. If you can find them you'll be in for a treat. When the water is all the way down hit the shady sides of rafts in 20 ft of water. We've done this countless times. One pulling in sacs and one pulling in bull bream trying to see which is biting better. Hoping to take my 3 yo this weekend for the first time but not sure if the water will be right.
With all the water flushing out the salad Black Bayou up at Hosston is hard to beat. I caught a Huge "Mason Bream" last weekend, but I don't think they have really turned it on yet. Maybe all the fresh water???? John
As Draftstud said, BB in Hosston is good. This is the thread I posted a few weeks ago about a trip with my daughter. They were scattered, but all big. Hope you find some where ever you go.
