Talked with Park Ranger.....75% open water! Will be out there on Saturday!
Good Luck
Thanks....have enough jigs tied, painted and plastics to load the boat!
Keep us posted I'm still jacking with winter boat projects lol
Do you guys choose to fish Evergreen over Banner?
I refuse to fish emiquoin or anywhere that requires me to remove my gas motor, for crying out loud it was a 12,000 + acre farm for years then a elk farm Why can't you leave the motor on the dang boat. I digress I prefer evergreen banner is tough for me but a heck of a lot closer, I always do better in the evening at banner but I love evergreen
evergreen
That surprises me. Banner's population and size is way better without a fee.
Any HP limit on Banner?
25hp limit on banner, looking forward to getting out there, can get on some really nice ones now and again
I like Banner just because I think it is very pretty and on weekdays it is very quiet and peaceful.
Friday. It is my birthday and I plan on fishing Banner. Maybe all 3 of the bigger lakes. If I can't find them in one, I try another, I know they are there, just not as easy as it used to be.
I like Banner and Evergreen for different reasons.
Also heading to Evergreen Saturday.
Hanr3.....see you there. I go early and scout with electronics. May take a while for the first day to find them!
My plan exactly. Not only will I be scouting, I have some other toys I need to play with.
Also seriously considering a purchase of the LakeMaster Auto Chart Pro and mapping Evergreen. If you see a boat driving all over the lake in a back and forth pattern, that will be me. Stop on by and say hey.
Running HD 12's and considering using the HD mapping feature also this year! Have to many jigs tied up new to play with on Saturday......I need to feel the thump!
Recon for about 1.5 hours this morning on the lake and found three spots.....water temp 41 degrees. Could not get them to bite. GOOSE EGG first in a long time at Evergreen but that is why they call it fishing!
Still have minnows going back for more punishment tomorrow but may try another lake!
I got blanked on Banner Marsh Friday, sunshine and warmer temps didn't happen like the weather reports predicted. Water temps 44 to 47. Did some exploring with chattering teeth. Great to be out on the water again and all the equipment worked fine!
At least you got out. Good news about the equipment.
Went to different lake.....downsized to 1/80 jigs and 1/48 and was in them but all dinks
I too hit Evergreen. However everyone I talked to at the ramp said they were skunked. Figured it would be a great excuse to play with my new AutoChart Pro. Pushed off the dock and fired up the '57 Johnson and let it idle while I figured out to record on my 899. Drifted 3/4 across the lake, coming up on the opposite shore and figured it out. Set it to record and headed for my favorite fishing holes to scan that area of the lake. 2 hours later I was heading back to the ramp.
Fired up the pc, and it took a few moments to figure out how to create my new lake map. Read the directions like it was code, but they were spot on. Next I was looking a a bunch of colors, then made them transparent and saw an awesome lake. Full of contour lines, humps, holes, etc. It was great. Replayed the sonar recording and saw a ton of interesting places to fish. I need to figure out how to make those spots, and figure out how to merge my previous waypoints on the new map.
I didn't even cast a line. Gave all my bait to a couple I met at the dock. They were heading out and I was heading in. Great couple and they had a beautiful Lund.
Even though I didn't catch a fish, got a little sunburn on my head, I had a great day. I did see one cove on the lake with a little ice left. Otherwise the lake was ice free.
Looking forward to Clinton Lake next weekend. Our first Crappie tournament of the year.
nice report!
Sounds promising. Think I'll give it a couple weeks and make a trip down.
going tomorrow .....no wind and sunny. Will see what the day brings!
Good luck.
Crushed them and I was the only boat on the lake for most of the day. Still going 1/64 hand ties. Ran about two hours around the lake with the HD 12 until I found them and they were killing it.

Nice job. What was the water temp?
Nice mess.. great job on using you electronics to find you fish.
44.....end of day was 45
Awesome mess!
yes using electronics......I have HD units. Side scan and down scan if I was buying a new 16ft boat with a 25 horse i'd dump all my money into electronics! Trick is they are not biting my custom ties in 1/8 and 1/16. I had to go down to 1/64 custom ties with kip tail and been on fire.

Crappies are no different than us. Sometimes I want a burger and other times I want a steak.
agree.....my wife just returned from business in Switzerland. She wanted a steak so last night......she ate the steak!
Headed out tomorrow morning.............anybody else? The whites are calling me also on the IL but going back for crappies at evergreen
Done by 10.....they are still wanting my 1/64 and 1/48
