Sure hope you killed it!
I had a big one jump in the boat with me late last summer, knocked the bezel of my depth finder and got blood and slime everywhere before I got him in my dip net. For that little deed I gave him a ride to the bank, put him about 20' from the shoreline. I'm sure the coons ate well that night.
Wal-mart has machetes :biggrin They'd come in real handy for "releasing" those fish, after a good solid whack across the neck, that is. :ThumbsUp

Whiskers bout the time I got him up to the boat he broke off. I wished I could of gotten rid of it.
Start carrying a pistol!!! :biggrin
Choooot em! Choooot em!
NO ... it's "illegal" whether you get caught or not. Crappie.com does not condone activities that are illegal, under any circumstances.
If the minnows CAME from the the lake ... no problem. If the minnows came from somewhere else ... he might have been testing you, to see if you were compliant with the suggestion that live bait not be dumped into the lake, but on the shore. If he were serious ... I'd suggest he read the highlighted block on the Aquatic Nuisance Species page of the Ky Fishing/Boating Guide, where it says : DISPOSE of unwanted livebait on shore – DO NOTSTOCK THE LAKE!

No pistol!!! Shotgun!!!!! Easier to hit a moving target!!!
I thought we are all just joking here? [emoji15]. Wow.
They are/were :biggrin ... I just can't take the chance on someone taking it serious & spreading the word that certain Crappie.com members are advocating the use of firearms to control these fish (or TNT, dynamite, C4, blasting caps, Cherry Bombs, M80's, scuba bang sticks, or electric shock devices).

Not gonna happen. Give us some credit here. We're good.
WOW really? I dont think Terry meant any harm by it. I took it as a JOKE.
So if you know and we know it is all in fun what is your job as a moderator CP. I think you should back off all your rhetoric in the name of CDC.
Do not post anything that is not child friendly. In other words, do not post anything rude, unfriendly, angered, inappropriate, disturbing, disrespectful, pornographic, sexual, slanderous, racial, or vulgar. Tongue in cheek razzing is OK only if it is obvious, and you know for fact the recipient will not take offense.
What part of this rule are you using today?
DARN- NO MORE PICS OF BILLBOB FLIRTING WITH MARRIED LADIES! LOL
My job as moderator is to moderate (ie - preside over) this forum. I'm following the intent of the site rules, as it pertains to what is said a little farther into the site rules:
Do not be surprised if your post is edited, deleted or locked (by any Moderator, Super Moderator or Administrator). It may even happen by accident. Do not be offended. We’re just trying to preserve the intention and spirit of the site. We will not debate what we’ve done, although we may or may not provide an explanation.
I have provided an explanation of the motives for my comments. I'm protecting the integrity of the site, by my comments, which were factual ... in order for any other member/guest that reads this thread (whom may NOT realize comments were made in a joking manner) to not take them seriously and realize the illegality of those actions.
If anyone, at any time, thinks I've crossed the line ... they have every right to report the post(s) or contact Ed/Slab and get his opinion of my actions.

C'mon y'all, we all on the same team. Lets get back to focussing on catching Crappie, and forget those Asian Carp.
As a matter a fact, FIL and I caught some nice ones this morning.

It's both, actually. I know of no laws restricting the use of a machete to kill an Asian Carp. And it's a pretty far stretch to consider it a "bad influence in the name or intent of crappie.com" to suggest using a legal method.
But I see where most of this debate is coming from, that being friends of Wiskers whom take it upon themselves to protect him in his absence. So, to them and those that think I was disrespecting him or his right to "joke around" ... That was not my intent. While I did direct my comments to his post, no disrespect intended, it was not stated simply towards him ... but, for ANYONE that read his joking remark, and took it serious that he was promoting the use of a firearm in an illegal manner. That was also the reason I posted about the machete, in a minor joking way, as an alternative (legal) method. And since Wiskers has not made any statement, pro or con, concerning my reply (or explanation) ... then I have to assume that he understands what I was doing & why, unless or until he states otherwise.
I worked for/with professionals for the entire 45yrs of my healthcare career, and I've seen instances where an offhand/joking comment has been taken as truth/fact and acted upon with negative consequences, by someone that felt they were being given license to do so ... simply because they heard a respected/professional person (jokingly) say they'd do it or suggest to another person that they do it.
Just as some of you are sensitive to my comments towards the joking comment Wiskers made, I'm sensitive towards the potential for harm to come to anyone that may act upon those comments (joking or not) made by a respected member of this site, and the potential harm that may occur to the site with respect to those actions.

Seriously!!! You got to be kidding!!! I feel as tho I am at work. That's where this kind is kindergarten Tuff tAkes place!
I always say "Everyone is funny". And that goes for me too. So stop it everyone, let it go. Just do it, just go fishing. I'm closing this thread. It's starting to depress me. Might have to go fishing again now just to get this thread off my mind.
