Next time you're around a sewing or fabric store get a spool of small elastic thread. A small piece tied on your line and trimmed will do the trick.
What Scott said . I also use a piece of rubber band.
I like the football shaped rubber ones from BPS....the go thru the rod guides good without hanging up on them....they have a wire loop thru them....just run your line thru the loop and pull the bobber stop off the wire and its on your line, throw the wire away. Been using them for years....to adjust lust slide the bobber stop up or down your line.

I have had this spool longer than I can remember and it will last me past my fishing days I think. I don't use mono anymore on my cork poles. I use Berkeley fire line. This thread works well with both. It and the fire line last forever. The fire line is stiff at first but will loosen up soon. This same knot and fire line has been on this pole for years.

Mans gotta do what a mans gotta do!!!!!!
I've got a link for making bobber stops on a straw. John, I sent it to you, think it's alright to post it here?
Post it up!!
I use the same ones G does. Found they are easiest on line and guides.
Dental ruberbands for braces .
Bought a gadget a few years ago that makes them, I used waxed thread.
What's wrong with the ones i use, just dont pull them so tight... if you want , i got pleanty of them
fly reel backing works great. Day Bright bober stops, I think you can get them at wally world
I have used many kinds and love this one.....it is so easy to put on.....the trick is, after you get it on, make sure your line is wet before sliding it.....I also put one on my rods that I tight line with just in case I want to switch to a bobber quickly....
also, when installing it, you will get a small kink in your line, usually about 6" from the end.....I just cut that off to avoid having a weak spot....
I use the same one "G" uses
I never thought you guys used bobbers.
I use very few bobbers. I use a bobber stop on my main line to mark the depth of the rig.
