Next time you're around a sewing or fabric store get a spool of small elastic thread. A small piece tied on your line and trimmed will do the trick.

I like the football shaped rubber ones from BPS....the go thru the rod guides good without hanging up on them....they have a wire loop thru them....just run your line thru the loop and pull the bobber stop off the wire and its on your line, throw the wire away. Been using them for years....to adjust lust slide the bobber stop up or down your line.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

good and cheap. I buy them and lose them before I use them. then go buy another 100 or so only to lose them too.

I have used many kinds and love this one.....it is so easy to put on.....the trick is, after you get it on, make sure your line is wet before sliding it.....I also put one on my rods that I tight line with just in case I want to switch to a bobber quickly....

also, when installing it, you will get a small kink in your line, usually about 6" from the end.....I just cut that off to avoid having a weak spot....

I have had this spool longer than I can remember and it will last me past my fishing days I think. I don't use mono anymore on my cork poles. I use Berkeley fire line. This thread works well with both. It and the fire line last forever. The fire line is stiff at first but will loosen up soon. This same knot and fire line has been on this pole for years.
