It won't be easy !!
Better get it while you can
River gonna be falling starting the end of the week
It'll be ok to get in, but the lake is low, so getting out might be tough, like impossible! Lol. Maybe we can drag over on the pipes
I haven't gone there yet, but have been threatening to this year if and when it gets high enough. I imagine its easier in a flat bottom aluminum boat, might have to be up higher for my bass boat.
In a shallow drafting flat, 14.1 is ok if the current isn't to bad ( you may need to get out and push on the rocks), but with a bass boat I wouldn't go until 15 or higher.
Went check it out yesterday....hard to get in and out. Had to get out and push and yank and pull...did fish for 2 hours, not a bite! One other boat in there, he had nothing too, water is crystal clear!
I've heard about that area, but never been. Also heard that some serious fish can be caught there.
Can't believe I'm gonna say this, might delete shortly, so read fast.... Windy and cloudy, it has to be windy overcast or low light for the best bite, bass and sacaulait. I should of went today but surcomed to the honey do list....
Good info bleedingduck, thanks.
Was I blocked from editing my own post...
Huh, I only see the edit button on my last post. I doubt its something they did......
You can send me a pm is you want!
Last year the bite was on, and it was blue bird! But it had come up enough to stain the lake a little. Monday morning it was indeed overcast, and still nothing. It was hard to leave because I know they are in there :scratchhead.
Getting out was a little rough as the water was rushing in. Water was about an inch over, so boat was getting roughed up a little.
Ok, that makes sense, but it is a little odd.. Had concerned.
the water is gin clear in there which usually turns the fish skittish as heck... Beautiful lake isn't it! Especially when an osprey swoops in to warn you that you are too close to her nest!
brandon, where you fishing bass or sacaulait?
Tried both....tried tigh lining in the grass pockets, throwing with a cork to get away from the boat, beatle spins. For bass, weightless brushhog, spinnerbaits, you name it, I probably threw it. Did not try shiners! haha....My wife did try crickets for bream, not a bite. I know the fish are there, like you said, that clear water makes them skittish. And we covered most parts of the lake.....:dono
Was thinking about going back Saturday possibly.
