Is there any saugeye and walleye experts on here ? I would really love to learn tho catch these I had some once and it is the only fish that beats crappie in a taste test in my opinion

I have only caught Saugeye casting parallel to the bank on T-Birds dam when it is windy.
Never caught one there, but Broken Bow has Walleye.
Sparky, if you go to the link below and open the "Stocking Reports" you can see where in Oklahoma the Saugeye have been stocked. I don't fish for them a lot but when I do I normally troll crankbaits. I catch a lot at Thunderbird that way in the middle of the lake on the north bank. There is a road bed north of the dam that is a good place and a gravel flat on the west side of Clear Bay you can cast crank baits on. May is a good month for Saugeye. Hope this helps.

Yeah it was in the middle of May when I was catching them at the Bird. They were loving my blue colored Yum plastics I was fishing for crappie with.
Saugeye are a blast, think they are gonna eat you alive when they open that mouth and flare those gills. I have best luck in rocky areas, ffish a couple spillways early in the year and limit out quickly. Later and thru the fall rocky shorelines jig tipped with nightcrawler in spring, later will change to grub tail 3" - 4".
Walleye are a bit more elusive, pre spawn vibrating blades. jig and minnow, jig and crawler, creek chubs fished just off the bottom, during spawn cast a jerk bait or medium sized rapala, after spawn jig and crawler fished very slow .5 - .6 mph.
Will switch to hopkins spoon, or crawler harness or sometimes various crankbaits in june, july and august. September starts fall and jigs. minnows and spoons work then blades and jigging raps mid october thru march
Yeah there a real blast catching them on your crappie setup!
