I have best luck in rocky areas, ffish a couple spillways early in the year and limit out quickly. Later and thru the fall rocky shorelines jig tipped with nightcrawler in spring, later will change to grub tail 3" - 4".
Walleye are a bit more elusive, pre spawn vibrating blades. jig and minnow, jig and crawler, creek chubs fished just off the bottom, during spawn cast a jerk bait or medium sized rapala, after spawn jig and crawler fished very slow .5 - .6 mph.
Will switch to hopkins spoon, or crawler harness or sometimes various crankbaits in june, july and august. September starts fall and jigs. minnows and spoons work then blades and jigging raps mid october thru march
