I've been wearing Mucks for about 5 years. I only wear one pair of socks, wool if it's below freezing. Mucks are breathable so you don't get sweaty feet from walking like with the Lacrosse boots. Mine have good grips on the soles and I've never had a problem slipping on wet surfaces, ice is a different matter though. My Woody Max's are rated from 60 to -20 F. Have fished in them on days when temps were in the single digits and my feet were comfortable. I wear an xtra wide 12 in most shoes but got the 13 in the mucks, good fit for me.
