They are great boots!!! Like any boot, you still need good socks to wick sweat and insulate you feet. They only come in whole sizes and fit pretty true to size. The only negative I've found is the soles are as slick as greased snot on ice.

Think I remember some of ya'll had worn them and liked them.
Are they worth the $$. I am tired of cold feet and not finding a pair of boots that will last and keep my feet warm while fishing and hunting.
For those that have worn them, what did you like and NOT like?
Are thick wool socks still necessary with them and did you buy a size larger than you normally wear to make them not too tight?
Was there a particular model that was better than the others?

I am looking forward to the answers here, got the fishing cover with a pair of Browning boots with a thick lining in em but need something to keep my feet warm when doing a lot of walking.
This morning was a prime example, 800 gram thinsalate lacrosse boots and my feet stayed cold all morning.

Need like 2 or 300 gram if you're gonna be walking a lot and make sure they don't have a steel shank. Steel shank=miserably cold feet! Buddy bought a pair of 1600 gram waders last year that had a steel shank and that next day was the coldest of his life, traded em in for some 800 I think with a fiberglass shank and he's good to go!
I like my Muck Boots
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I may be the exception, but all I ever wear is regular white socks and lacrosse boots and my feet never get cold. To me the most important factor to keep my feet warm is having really good bibs(Browning Gortex) pulled over my boots that way the heat never escapes.
And to make sure the rest of my body stays warm I wear a fleece hoodie that comes way down past my neck. If my hands and neck are warm. I am warm
I have 2 pair of muck boots one are short non insulated others are tall insulated they feel good on my feet for long periods but they are slick on hard surfaces when wet and fish slime on them. last November at lower lake I had a fall with the short ones on part my fault.
I have the Muck Chore boot, one pair of wick socks in 5 to 10 degree weather walking they were great. They were on sale at BPS for $60, I wear a 9 1/2 so I got a 10. Debbie wants a pair but her's will cost about $130 and hard to find her size.
Last year I found a site that had them on clearance, her's would have been $70, but couldn't find anyone close that carried her size in any boot to try on.
I've been wearing Mucks for about 5 years. I only wear one pair of socks, wool if it's below freezing. Mucks are breathable so you don't get sweaty feet from walking like with the Lacrosse boots. Mine have good grips on the soles and I've never had a problem slipping on wet surfaces, ice is a different matter though. My Woody Max's are rated from 60 to -20 F. Have fished in them on days when temps were in the single digits and my feet were comfortable. I wear an xtra wide 12 in most shoes but got the 13 in the mucks, good fit for me.
