I think the folks that attend the camps need to decide. I'd like to see one at Grenada myself. It's more centrally located for everybody.
Camp at Enid and you can fish Grenada or Sardis if you want too....or all three
Barnett. Only a couple more hours south and we don't do squat there. We have Timber Lake campgrounds or we could go one of the camp grounds up river
It has been my belief that the Crappie Camps were planned and organized by Mississippi Crappie.com folks. When did it become the domain of the FruitJar committee?
Myself and others on the committee would just a soon not have this responsibility, with the new points thing and the added length to the season we have enuff to do. Having it at Pickwick turned out to be a blessing with all the gubberment stuff shut down and think everyone there had a good time.Quote:

I think in the beginning maybe it was....dunno for sure but I kinda think so or maybe it was just that some of the committee members back then were good organizers. But last year in the polls the members voted to choose and plan the camps. So lets move forward and quit being negative and give input as to location and dates etc. for Spring Camp 2014Quote:

A great fall camp and hope to come back in the spring, nader enid or sardis works for me, just dont have it right around a tournament time so the guys that know the lake can help out the ones that dont and not give away any secrets. I am sure they will later on based on the input from this thread.......thats what was expressed in the f irst post in this thread so post up your location and what month etc.
I suggest April 12, 2014 as the date and Grenada as the place.
When considering keep the following in mind:
1. The Sardis Fruit Jar is April 5th.
2. Easter is April 20th.
3. The Enid Fruit Jar is May 3rd.
4. Mothers' Day is May 11th.
5. Every other Saturday in May is open.

As long as I can get the 75ft train in there. As I plan on having a hitch on back of this by spring. That way boat is with me. That or fish with Billbob.

Just checked. MCC has a tourney on April 12th on Barnett. Any suggestions?
Like you said JF Easter is the 20th so we can scratch that... You stil have 26,27th of April.... It's the week before Enid Tourney but I'd rather ddo it then than Easter.. Could go mid May
We could have it at Enid the weekend before the tourney and have a good crowd pre fishing come to camp also.
Kill two birds with one stone!!!!!

So far Enid, Grenada, Sardis, and Barnett have been mentioned.
I'm really concerned about the date. I don't see this happening without sitting it down on a date already taken. That being said, I would really like to stay away from the AR camp date. I know of several people that try to make both, and would rather not make them have to chose. Also, I anticipate Crappie USA taking the one open weekend in April on Grenada.
That leads to my last point. April on Grenada has received a lot of attention. If we go that route, the pavilion at Grenada Landing will probably already be spoken for. I know we have used the one on the north end of the dam for other activities. Or, maybe, is there one in the State Park, or campground?
Just some ideas, help me out?
