What's the word on Fall Crappie Camp? How about the weekend of September 20th? That's the weekend before bow season. Anybody gonna step up and take the helm?
That's a great weekend for me Chris. I'm not on call so I should be able to make it. What lake are we fishing? Since it may just be the 2 of us, Cliff's cow pond over at Possum Grape has been known for some trophy bullhead cats and sun perch. Depth finders not needed since it is 2.5 feet all over. Best fight I ever had was when I hooked Cliff's Brahma bull on the ultra-light when it waded out in the pond to get a drink. When I set the hook it was on like donkey kong. I turned him a couple times, but he eventually spooled me and broke off. I thought I had a shot at a line class record for awhile even though I was kinda dreading trying to get 2000lbs of mad Brahma bull in my ego reach net.
Bad time for me .my first tournament of the season at Grenada !!!!!
Well in that case, we will hold it on the private dink hole. That place is so loaded with Crappie, even WE could luck out and catch us one of those 8 inch slabs. It will be a camp to remember.
It have to be in Oct or Nov before I get to go anywhere.

I would like to go to a crappie camp? Although I have very little knowledge I want to learn and teach my kids what it's all about.
The CACA tournament will be my fall Crappie Camp! :cool:
Good idea! We won't be having a big cookout but we will have a good time at the weigh in and I'm sure a group of us will get together the night before and grab some dinner somewhere!! So even if your not fishing the tourney come out and fish with us! We will know in the next week where we will be holding the Championship but it looks Dardanelle may be the place!!Quote:

A "camp", be it spring or fall, is when a date is set for any members of the site to gather at a particular lake for some fishing, fellowship, sharing of ideas, tips, eating up some good groceries and generally just have a good time with people who enjoy catching crappie.Quote:

Wouldn't be able to make a fall camp, just to much other stuff in the way at that time, bring on spring and I'm in!!

You know we make these things way to complicated. We could say everybody meet at Dardenell Saturday the ???? We will fish til 4 pm. Everyone go to your camp and fix your own supper and meet back at rhe pavilian for fellowship till you want to leave. Fishin and fellowship. I dont need to be fed and given prizes or even compete in a tourny to have a good time. Then we could have five or six a year and everyone wold get to participate.
