Lots of big carp in there also. I have caught 20lb+ carp at the passage under the road...

Sir, you were right. Plenty of babies. Spawning in 2 feet of water. I went this morn. The ramp is a nightmare. Had to back the truck in to the back door of my 08 silverado crew cab just to get the boat off and on the trailer. A two man boat Def needed for this lake.
The carp were spawning everywhere today.

I've fished there for many years. Not so much in the last few yrs. Lots of small fish, occasional 10"+. Caught a 4lb 4oz bass there back in about 1993. Ramp has always been nightmare, my trailer axle is flipped for lower stance....easier launching......just for THAT lake I might add.
I could PM you the better locations I know of in there if you like:cheers2. BUT, I promise in the last few yrs It's been LOTS of small fish there.
Told ya! That lake is full of big carp, had them banging the bottom of my Jon boat one time I thought they were going to flip the boat over....
It's probably been 20 years ago but I used to fish there often. Caught a lot of crappie but they were around 6 inches long. Sounds like it hasn't changed a lot. We did used to be able to catch some descent bluegill out of it. They weren't monsters but good eatin size. Also used to catch a lot of channel cats. I never really had a small boat so it was a pain in the butt getting a bass boat off the trailer there.

Don't waste you time! Unless you want to take a kid or someone that wants to catch lots of fish, the lake is full of paper thin 5" to 8" crappie and small gills. The ramp is useless for a trailed boat. Try Elk Creek it is my first choice behind Hardy of course. Good luck!!
carp are fun to catch on four pound line though
Elk Creek is a pretty place. Had a relative involved in the watershed project when they put it in. I was still in HS back then. Never did get to fish it but always enjoyed when he'd take us over to see it before and after it was completed.
