I just make a long cast behind the boat.

When longlining you can not stop so when you get hung just grab the rod out of the holder and hold the spool ans straighten the hook reel in re-bend the hook and cast back out.
Creek at 1 mph and a 1/8 z jigs what depth do you think your jig is and how much deeper will a 1/4 oz jig run? Do roadrunners run deeper or shallower? So you use light wire jigs or regular to longline?

I am just guessing but the 1/8 oz about 8-10' and the 1/4 oz about 12-14'. I think the roadrunner will run a little shallower.Quote:
