I think they really got him upset when they moved his post. Has anyone heard from him?
I didn't move any posts to upset anyone and i apoligize if i did.........I get put in a tough spot from time to time being moderator but overall i don't mess with many posts,i have been getting flack about all the off topic stuff on the main board and stuck a thread explaining to everyone that we should make better use of the off topic board, when a post comes along that needs moved thats exactly what i intend to do,I'm not doing it to make anyone mad. This whole thing is getting blown out of porpotion by a couple of members we need to move forward,i really can't see what all the fuss is about just a because a couple threads got put on the correct board.
I miss his posts. I think he got the short end of the stick.
Beagle....come home.........
I'm with you all i hope he hurries back.........i consider that ole hillbilly a close personal friend.
Unfortunately, it is easy to forget the time and effort that goes into running something like this; we prolly all owe you a thank you for the good work that you do. I ain't no kinda regular poster by any stretch of the imagination, but I do a couple of these sites for the different hobbies that I have (bow hunting, trout fishing, backpacking, etc.) and I can say without a doubt that this one is the best run of the bunch. They are all good in their own way, but this one just seems to have an energy that you don't see too often. You do a heck of a good job. I hope all stay happy, this is a good site with about the best comeraderie (I know there is no way that I spelled that correctly) that you can hope for.
I have to do very little with the bunch of folks we have on the Mo board and when i do i get a certain amount of grief but i guess thats to be expected, human nature please 100 theres bound to be a few thats not so happy..........thank you for the kind words and support i really appreciate it.
The last that I saw out of beagle was the robins post and he ended it saying that " I will miss you all. " I am not knocking you Bugman, I don't envy your job nor do I want it but I don't completely agree with the moving of the post. I think it teetered on the line but weighed more towards the legit side. Thank you for keeping the site running as smoothly as you do. It must take more time and effort than I care to imagine.
Don't believe it would be an easy job; Thank you Bugman!:)
I have to agrre with this. It is a fine line you must walk, and with that said you do a hard job very well. Possibly in future if a post has context that borders think about it and maybe pm the author to discuss it. this is the best group of people I've never meet. Great advice. always free with it too. Can not wait till camp to meet some of them. Are you going to be there?
This is a great site and alot of work goes into it I'm know but there is only afew people that post every day and I thank them all for that, know matter where they decide to post it. Beagle is Beagle and I thats what I like about his post. So with that Beagle you can Pm me anytime with your tips, news rants, and raves :D it will be kinda like a Beagle news letter :D
I don't really have a dog in this race here on the MO board...but I will say this as I run into the same thing over on the MS board. We got two forums one for fishing related stuff and then off topic board for everything else just as you do. To keep the boards in order and neat and clean...you have to sometimes move threads from one board to the other. Sometimes it can be kind of border line whether its fishing related or not or vice versa...all any mod can do is just make a judgement call and go on. There is no reason for anybody to get upset...their posts have not been deleted...they are still there just moved to another board.
I'm fairly new to this board, but admin 3 others with a total membership of well over 5k. That's right, I said 5K members.
When it comes to a situation like this, it is ALWAYS in the best interest of the "board" to take a long look at posts that are supposedly over the proverbial line.
Before you take any action.
I've done that with the post in question here, and have looked at the responses to it and of course this thread.
Remember, this is only my take on this "situation" and probably doesn't mean squat, but here goes.
The post wasn't over the line. I took it as a sign that both the weather & fishing would be making a decided turn for the better by the return of the robins. A sign spring was close behind.
Beagle seemed to get PO'd about it. But, did he PM or contact whoever moved it? Did the person who moved it let Beagle know he was moving it?
So, you can see where someone could get an attitude about it.
With all this being said, it is never easy to admin a board. If it were a member that was a "problem type" it would be another story.
I believe in this instance, that is definitely not the case.
So, what to do? If I were the one that moved the thread, I would be the one to contact Beagle, and try to get him back on this board. Plain and simple.
For those that are overly concerned i just talked to beagle and we both explained our take on the whole thing and much to the dismay of a couple of folks we're still friends.......
It has gotten blown out of proportion. Several posts got moved to the off topic board. It's a judgment call that has to be made by the moderator(s). It's not personal, therefore, shouldn't be taken that way. I've had my fingers slapped here more than once and will probably happen again but I don't take it personally. :)
Beagle is probably busy with the dogs, or drunk out in the shed. That Crown Royal does things to him. :)
glad everything got settled, thats good news for everyone on here. I'm not really sure what I did to make some folks mad but I'm sorry and will lurk more type less ;)
This "mood" feels like last year when some were saying that there was too much jousting around and not enough talk about fishing. Threads were getting of track, so that is why WE have the off topic forum! (thanks to Bugs)
I can not decide if Beagle's thread warranted a move, so that is Bugman's call, we'll all be fishing more sooner or later so the posts will be a lot more fishier:)
I have really enjoyed the off topic thread, lots of joking around with friends I haven't met yet without having to be related to the main fishing forum.
We are going to take up a collection over on the MS board to get enough gas money to send Wannabe to your camp. You can either keep him or figure out a way to get him back, Lol. :D
I'll be lookin forward to it as well.........none taken, thanks.

Keep Up The Good Work Jamie
Good stuff fuzzy..........thanks fuzz.
There is no position of leadership or authority that can be done effectively without stepping on some toes. The mod's job is no different. Thanks for the work you do Bugman, and glad to hear it all worked out.
