Im down as long as slabking comes and shows us where to fish....
everyone can go except masta.
its ok, ill fish my thousands of secret spots by myself.........
I'll be there no problem. It still might be a little early for the big Fall night bite but we'll find a few crappies and some largemouths. I can be at the launch by 8pm.
ok hold on one moment sounds great but.. how long do you think we will need to be out there, now i would like to be out there all night into the next day but i dont know if i will be able to but i should be able to fish for a few hours. Hook me up with the info slab.
If they are not on a good bite by 9:30...they just are not in yet. One could hunt them down and find them but I'd wait until they move into their Fall locations lol. There are several areas where they will stack up by the hundreds from Oct-Jan. They have yet to let me down in 6 years of winter fishing Union.
I'm almost 100% sure they will be stacked by now with the way the wheather has been lately. Heck, the smallies and perch on L. Washington have already moved out to 20-30 feet already. They seem to be moving out a little early this year. I'm still catching largemouth up shallow but they'll stay up until late Nov most years.
well i am up for it. do i need to get some lights on my boat, and what kind of riggs should be used as well if the crappie are not hitting are the bass still on a night bite?
Yeah, the largemouths can be caught up shallow (1-12 feet) until the end of Nov no problem. Topwater, spinnerbaits, grubs and crappie jigs will catch them. For the crappie you'll just need 1/32 jigs and crappie nibbles. A small slip boober rig works well when you find a good school. They move up and down pretty fast so I just cast jigs I until find what depth they are at. Then I'll clip on a bobber and have it.
Lights work REALLY well but you can just use a latern and they'll hang out right under boat until you're tired if catching them. The green underwater lights work very well..you can see the schools at times when you use an underwater light. it's not needed at all though unless you really want to catch a mess of fish.
sounds awesome, can't wait to get into some crappie!
sounds good to me as well i will have to see if i have anylights to use!
ya, I dont have any lights, i better get some
Hey boys, I'm a Night fisher from Lake Michigan. Just reading articles on night fishing.Would not dare converse with local boys cause night fishing can be devestating to a lake.I hate to always lie about where I go,but people will always exploit a good situtation. As of now, My partner and me still don't have any comp. on a 500 acre lake at night, and scared to show anyone how we do it.You guys be nice to SLABKING cause he knows...
Oh I know, and agree.
where will everyone be launching/meeting at?
i am guessing gasworks? maybe fourteenth? and probably around sunset for time
yeah urban and i are going to head out early and will probably meet slab at the launch on union when it becomes time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, I'll launch out of Sunnyside ( http://www.cityofseattle.net/parks/Boats/Sunny.htm ) around 8 or so. I'm off at 5pm so I may run a little late but I'll be there for sure.
sounds good! it looks like there will be three boats urban and I to one and masta in anotha, were going to get something.
Well.....I don't know about "we"...but I know I'll be catching some slabs LOL!!!! :D Just kidding.
We should swap cell numbers before we take off from the meeting point. If someone gets into a load of fish they can call in reinforcements.
do you have a radio on your boat?
i dont, but cell phone is 605-0039
mines 940-8464
769-0841
Big thanks to you slab! I know we didn't get on the fish but you did show us some spots for next time, I think i am going to keep trying that maybe once a week and figure out how to do it properly had fun even with and especialy because of people who are belligerent, I am sure once we left you went off to your real hot spot.
It was nice to finally meet you guys K.K. I had a good time even though the fish were not willing to bite well. Give it another month and try the same places we went and you'll nail them. They're still scattered right now.
For those that could not make...I had a run in with property owner that didn't want us to fish near his building and claimed he owned that part of the lake. I tried to tell him that we were just fishing and that the public owns the water and we were on the water..not his property. Long story short..he cursed at me so I responded in kind and countinued to fish ;). Tight lines fellas.
yea that was an entertaining night despite the small number of fish caught, i really appreciate you showin us some spots that we can go back to in the future for some crappie, thanks!
Yes it was a fun night, I cant wait for the action to heat up, we should all head out again then. The run in was interesting, I know one thing, Ill feel safe fishing next to Slabking anyday!
what ever...suck up. it won't help ya.
At least I didnt run away...

So lets start planning another trip fellas. Sometime in the next two to three weeks are so.
Sounds good to me, if the rain holds back urban and i might stay on the lake and give it a try again on sat, but we do need to do it again i will be going down to Duck lake in late october, never fished crappie in that lake at that time of year before, but i have confidence i can get a few, quite a few.....cough... But first thing is first i must win the PPT (Profesional Perch Trail) on sat. then i willl go from there, but knowing masta he will back out because of a little wind and rain. whatever.
oh, ill give it to ya, you probably will win, but ill still be there for sure.
i will be there too, i actually kind of like fishing in the rain, its refreshing
"oh, ill give it to ya, you probably will win..."- Masta
Everyone remember this day.
