New Marine
My grandson has 4 more nights at home and the he is off to Paris Island for Marine Basic training. For 10 years he has talked and dreamed about becoming a Marine. He has been running 14 miles every day and doing 110 setups getting ready. They get the new recruits together 2 times a week prior to basic to harden them up. He is on a legal high right now. His dad (my son) says it has finally set in on him. He has raised him by himself for years ans now he has to cut the string. We are proud of our grandson and his choice and we will pray for him to be safe along with his fellow Marines. For those of us who were put in harms way we know what can happen. Keep our grandson in your prayers.

Hey oldwun,
I'm guessing that your grandson has had a desire to serve our country because of certain role models in his life. After learning of your time and efforts as a volunteer helping out after storms here on the gulf coast, and your son raising his son by himself, I can assume that the young man has had some seriously good home training. You, your son, and your grandson are showing what is right with this world.
Thank you.
And thank your soon to be Marine grandson for me, for his service to our country. Prayers sent from Louisiana.
