Nice, 21 in one spot way to go.
Makes me want to go to jesup right now. Nice fish, I’ll take some of those gills.
And if I haven’t already said it, welcome from Debary.
I've read tilapia are algae eaters. Did you catch it on a jig or live bait? Just a curious northerner.

Looks like you had very good luck. Is that Tilapia any good eating. I've had it in a restaurant but never freshly caught. Thanks for sharing.

Good job finding those Gills, maybe if I see ya out there sometime we can trade Specks for Gills,,,,Ha!,,,, I marked tons of larger beds & believe they were Talipia beds, quite a population in the lake .....anyways if you see a light blue flats skiff, Salt Marsh , say hello....

Vic- Recently enjoyed the stupendous fight and plight(fish's) of harvesting my 1st caught 5.1 lb Blue Tilapia. Taste was as mild as farm raised. Hit a beetle-spin, a roe-laden female that must have taken a swipe at the spinner blade and hooked itself in the chin! It has beautiful firm, white meat with medium amount of red meat next to skin. I presoak all filets in fresh, unsalted ice water overnight.:twocents:ThumbsUp

For sure they are being eaten and no doubt large numbers of them. The cast netters i see are all Hispanic, and they take large numbers of them to sell, no doubt directly within that community. No different than selling Shrimp or produce from the side of the road, and lots of that happens also. I guess they cracked down on the Gator tail jerkey however.
