Water finally going down
Water is finally going down some. Went today and trolled with black and char. and black and pink jigs that I tied. Where, north of I-65. Started at 10:00, it was about 11:00 before they started biting. Wind was out of the west and when it put some ripples on the water, they started. Around 3:00 the wind shifted out of the east and they stopped. Caught about 25 and brought home 19. The board that they are laying on is exactly 12 inches wide.

Oops, responded on the phone and it does not show me your "Location". I will have to remember that the next time I have to go to the beach with the family. Been trying to find a place there is some fish down there for me to try and catch. Very nice black crappie by the way.

Nice catch and size for the area. I fish north of I-65 also not wanting to know your fishing holes just a little information. Due to the high water and a new grand daughter I haven't got to fish at all. If you don't mind telling how deep the water was and how deep you were fishing it would be a lot of help to me. Last year at this time my wife and I was catching fish ever time we went. We keep our camper up at Lower Bryants Landing during the spring and summer and usually fish Milfin.
Thanks

Well I haven't been back since that day. Rained again and the water rose some and won't go back down. I trolled in 8 to 12 ft. of water and was trolling jigs about 4 to 5 ft. deep. Water temp. was about 75 degrees, so they are not that deep yet if they are feeding. I caught fish last year even in the high water, but not this year. If it gets high enough for them to feed in the swamp, they are gone. When it starts down and gets a foot or less in the swamp they will come back to the lakes. I have a friend that has some limb lines out in Tensaw river and Miflin. He fishes them when the water stars falling to catch cats as they are coming out of the swamp. He said he caught one big one last week and when he cleaned him, he was full of snails where he had been feeding out in the swamp. Like I said, Berry Steam Plant has been a little over 7 ft. for several days. When it starts falling, they will be biting again. By the way, fish wasn't the only thing biting that day. The gnats were biting pretty good too.
