It make three for me, but a personal best. It's always been in the fall/winter. I was fishing small brush pile in 22 FOW catching a few 10-11" crappie. Look over about 10' from the boat an a crappie floating on top with a fish in his month. Troll over and picked it up.

I had a large Cat grab a smaller cat one time when I was fishing but that is about it for me. Cool story, thanks for sharing.
Well, I've seen that but never with near that big of a shad. That crappie was hungry! What lake were you on?
i've seen a few bass like that, largest i've come across was large mouth bass about 12lbs or so with another large mouth bass stuck struggling on top of the water, separated the 2 and put them back in them back into the water and swam away. guess fish's instinct to eat whatever size fish they can get in their mouth's even if it results in them choking to death
IkenI, I was on a small lake up by Guthrie, OK ( 200 acres ).
This is why I don't see the necessity of fishing with tiny 1/32 jigs and such. Easier to fish with a heavier jig, and the crappie have no problem eating them.
Have seen that twice but with bass and like previous post separated them and they swam away. During the Tenkiller Tournament in Carlisle Cove I had a good tournament crappie on and my partner getting ready to net her when a very large bass hit her two times and took her away from me. My partner and I just sit there with our mouths open in shock. A 14" crappie eaten by a bass and I needs her more than the bass did.....Ranger
Ranger, the crappie swam away in my LW. When home didn't have any 7.5" baits with me.

EB, you sure that wasn't a mammal crappie with 11 little ones. Maybe four in one crappie is the most I ever remember, but you catch a lot bigger crappie than I do.
