Decided to bring dad and grandpa fishin, put in at engineers, boat running good, til we got out of the marina anyhow. Guy put a coil on it for me couple days ago and I still firmly believe its the primer. We shall see in a couple days. We have caught a few fish tho

Does the primer stay soft, or does it get hard after a few pumps?
Put an inline clear filter between the primer and motor. You'll see when the line is full from then on.
As you are on your way squeeze the primer, if it runs good, it's the fuel pump.
Could be some trash in the pump or carb if no filter.
It's the primer on the side of motor. Just like a choke
