Sounds like a plan... I watched a video from someones post in this forum, can't remember which one it's oin, and this guy was using a heat gun that stood up by iteself and he just waved a jig in it for a few seconds and BAM was pretty much done. Anyone know what i'm talking about?
hey lsu a tip on heat guns READ the BOX. be sure the heat gun doesn't have a asbestos core just for your own safety.
Well I use an alcohol lamp for heating my jig heads and like it a lot better than any other, method. It's low cost fuel and not black stuff on jig heads as it burnes clean.I have 2 heat guns and will not use them for that. Just my 2 cents.

I switched to heat gun from my burner. Got my heat gun off ebay for 9 bucks. Have had it about 3 months know and like it. I leave it sitting on end out on the garage workbench. Also use it to heat up my laser blades before I sprinkle the powderpaint on them. Works great!!
As far as that little pencil torch from Janns craft,,,,I got one used it 2 times and tossed it in the trash. The butane would last maybe a min.,and I could not control the heat very well. It would burn those little spoons up real fast!! So I went make to the soldering iron which I know. Works the best I found.
Don't waste your money on one of those little pencil torches!!
You tube,,,it was YouTube - Powder Painting - Curing - TJ's Tackle (www.tjstackle.com)
Really like the heat guns - have a bench model (adjustable angle) that has variable temp settings and have a smaller hand held, use that one mostly for heat shrink tubing and rod wrapping (get the bubbles out of the clear coat).
If you are going to do multiple colors you will want to use the gun. It gives a better control of the reheat process to apply the other colors.
