Got a Warner at Wal-mart this winter for 25 bucks, it has 2 settings. Works good with the powder paint for putting 2 tone color on jig heads and ice jigs. Have tried using a flame for doing the 2 tones, IT DONT WORK. Only time i use a flame, Bic lighter, is for heating the bare jig head for doing the first coat.
Heat gun makes it easy to get fancy.
Like alcohol burner myself but Harbor Frieght has heat guns for $9.98.
I have a heat gun for stripping furniture. Can someone explain how you make a "fancy" powder paint job utilizing the heat gun? I want to try it!
Very easy, do your base coat, or first coat. Then take your heat gun, warm the head up, take a small craft size paint brush, dip in the powder paint, which ever color you want for the second color, and tap the loaded brush, where ever you want the second color, then take your heat gun, and apply more heat to the head to blend in the second color. Thats it, then bake in the oven. GOOD LUCK
