if you used something like this : http://www.dxengineering.com/Parts.a...PLD%2DLET14Z03 for any connection points that are potentially going to be "wet", more often than not.
But, I'd also use dielectric grease on all the "other" electrical connection points ;)

That liquid tape CP referenced is some great stuff. A lot of places carry it including Walmart. I use it along with heat shrink. I've also got some heat shrink that is coated inside so that it makes a waterproof connection when shrunk.
Dielectric is great for connections subject to water. Liquid tape is great if you never ever have to open that connection.
