we use floats , almost always for panfish . I carry cheap ones and not so cheap ones .
"the woods" are my favorite , but they are expensive to lose .
most of the time we employ the 35 cent Styrofoam pinch on types comal makes , but if casting distance is important and loss levels are low to impossible , out comes "the woods" at 1.50 to 2.00 a pc.
love me a really low sitting balsa with a light jig on it , will sink at the slightest of bites and rarely give a fish a reason to spit it out . bass pro carries 6 packs of them in their brand as cheap as we can find them here at about a buck 50 a pc.
Thill is often "the wood" of choice but run about 25 to 35 percent higher at most retail spots locally .
that all said , one point pinch on wood pencil style has always been the stuff if you really want to be all that and then some with a float on the panfish .
of course many would argue with me about it , but about none of them ever went ketchn with me , just saying ......:Rofl:Cowboy
here are some images from the other day using this method of engagement , bass bream and crappie all fall for this on a regular basis here in Texas :highfive
