Eights and Aces
The black episodes have begun , wet some of my Limits Tackle black beauties the other day (the no paint minnow head versions in 1/8 oz.) . The results were less than disappointing for sure ! One fish that came in at 2lb.3oz. hit it so hard it about took my rod from my hand !
Now mind you this , I was with an Ace at crappie ketchn and in the end I needed a couple or 3 for my freezer . So I kept 8 large and he filleted the rest and to be sure it was good times .
Water temperature was 58 to 59 . It was heavy fog when we started and stayed pretty nice until we left before lunch time . The lake of course was crowded on a weekend visit , but we stayed to ourselves .
Watched 5 guys across the lake in one boat single pole my buddies new brush pile for the ENTIRE 3 hours we were there !
Left with 25 nice fat ones , we hit a gauntlet type scenario where a creek channel runs close to a point and fished open water no cover on the bottom . the fish were roaming the shore in about 17 foot of water and wanted the presentation drug across the bottom .
The actual reason for the trip was 2 fold , had to drop off his black hand ties I got him for Christmas and needed to wet my whistle for some rod bending as well .
Don't know what the "best" 8 weighed but did put 2 on the hand scale for grins before they met the knife.
That my friends is my fishee story and I am sticking it to them:Cowboy
KABOOM is the word btw .....
