Trout Magnets let me down

But the plastic worm came through. I haven’t been out since the 7th, was watching the Chiefs game and both kids went to sleep! Ran to the neighborhood pond with my trusty ULW/TM combo, assuming I’d get a dozen gills in an hour.

Not even a bite! Grabbed my medium and tossed a spinner a few times, nothing.

Put on a plastic worm, and within five minutes I got a respectable LMB. Last time I used a plastic worm I wasn’t even old enough for o drive.

I then walked 100 yards to the spillover, it’s covered in moss but had one small clear area. Water is crystal clear, never seen it that way before. Was very cool to be able to see the action of the lure and the fish chasing it, something I’ve never experienced before. I had no idea how many little dinks were chasing Trout Magnet.

Caught a handful of gills, the Chiefs lost, and we went to the pumpkin patch.

Wow, that’s some low water levels for sure. Glad you got to get out for it looked like a beautiful day.

low water is duck heaven and a fisherman's dream come true ....minus the moss of course
no worries them ducks will eat that moss up soon , they love to hit them low water spots in the winter months

btw , try a "motor oil" colored worm with black specs in it , some might call it "pumpkin" , thank me later sir :highfive

That was a real nice bass, GLR. We are well into the fall transition up our way, and I haven’t been out for a bit but I suspect the bite is going to be tough from here on out. At least on the creek. The glory days of summer and bites on almost every cast are in the rear view mirror. Trout magnets are my number one go to, so it should be interesting to see what they can produce. Glad you found the combo that worked.

yep, I was out three hours today and got ten fish. Two bass, eight gills all of which were very small.
