L. Maumelle River bream
Been doing quite a bit of bream fishin' on the LMR the past few weeks. Even though the majority weren't big bulls, these are by far the largest bream that I've found on the LMR. They were beddin' up, but with the fluctuating water levels, it was hard to keep up with 'em. They were biting pretty much anything that hit the water...worms, crickets, and dynamax jigs. Found all of 'em (on all 3 trips) in one spot about 1' deep. Now that the river has somewhat stabilized, I'll be huntin' for the crappie soon. Here are some pics from one of the trips (but I had better success on the others).
Tons of these little guys runnin' up the river...

Take note of the water level on this stump...

Same stump...but now housing Goocher's old buddy...they go way back...:D

Pretty good idea of how low the water was on that day...it usually comes almost to the top of the stump...

My partner for the day...who I might add, dearly hates stumps...especially the one that he's growling at in the above picture...

A few bream from the day...

Decided that I didn't want to fool with 'em...so I took a quick pic and set 'em free...I hope they stay put until I can make it back...

Great pictures and there is some relaxing scenery up in the river. I love those old Cypress Trees ,but it's been years since I've been there. Ever try the lake? Maumelle has some dandy bream in it or used to.:D

Buddy there would have been some small arms fire had I been in that boat with ya that day. What did Buster think of the snake?

Some good gills Chris, and some neat pictures.

Nice pics CEB. Good mess of fish also!:)

Excellent post Chris, great pics and some nice gills.
Gooch, no need for fire arms, a simple smack with the paddle will take care of it.

Nothing happening on Conway.. guess I'll go to LMR in the morning and look for that stump. Good pic of a very misunderstood snake, Banded Watersnake, mean temper but quite harmless, they are a good indicator of a nearby bream hole.
... now that troopers have captured Chris Grady/Rebecca Burrier I can actually leave the house again

Ceb. Glad to see you get in a little fishing. Great pics. Went again today and managed to catch a dozen crappie. Nothing huge, but a good mess of fillets at the end of the day...Rick
