Memorial weekend fishing

We camped at Pendleton park on the Arkansas River last week. The river was high and muddy the whole week and Morgan Point was 5 feet over the dam. M.P. looked good, not muddy but I couldn't find many crappie with all the water. We did catch some bream and catfish though. We also fished Moore's bayou backwater off the river and caught some big bluegill, but never got into any big redear. Hopefully the flow will slow down some on the river and M. Point will get back down to normal levels and we can find the crappie.

I have been down to Moore's bayou frog huntin a few nights, and them gators are everywhere! I knew we were going to see some gators when pulled up to the ramp and there was one laying on the ramp.

Great pics. I don't know if I could get use to fishing in waters that have critters that can eat me:eek: Thanks for the neat pics.

Where's the flathead?????

Jerry, thats a nice looking place, and them critters remind me of the waters that I fish in. Glad to hear you are back on your feet and back out on the water.

Nice pics. I used to fish alongside gators when I lived in Florida. Spoke with a couple of guys on crappie.com (Florida) about a lake I used to fish called Lake Manatee and they told me the gators were very agressive in there now since folks have been feeding them. They are associating pepole with food and now the lake is not safe to fish (unless you want a gator in your boat). Best adive, please don't feed the critters.

Jerry glad so see you getting to enjoy the outdoors with your family. Whats going on with Cane Creek these days? Normaly this time of year we are seeing post of you holding those beautiful Cane Creek crappie that couldnt resist a Roadrunner.

Dale, I haven't been to Cane Creek in the spring, don't know where to fish then. In the fall and winter they will move into the beaver pond area, that's when we catch them on CC. About the end of Sep. or first of Oct.
